Valentine's Day Giveaway: Dinner at The Grille at Rough Hollow

Written by Cathy Hale | January 30, 2015

Valentines-Day-Giveaway

It’s time for our February giveaway and we’re excited to announce our partner is The Grille at Rough Hollow. Together with The Grille, we’re offering one lucky winner (and a guest of his or her choosing) a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two. Grab your sweetheart and enjoy a delicious 3-course prix fixe menu including complimentary champagne and Amuse Bouche.

Whether you choose the pan roasted Sea Bass or one of their most popular dishes, Duck Two Ways, or the beef tenderloin filet, your taste buds will thank you. Plus, did we mention banana Nutella cake with banana coconut ice cream is one of your dessert options? Anything with Nutella is always the right choice in our opinion.

City of Lakeway is Jazzed to Bring Arts District to Lake Travis

Written by Cathy Hale | January 28, 2015

Lakeway Arts District

We all know the Lake Travis area is booming with growth. And while we may have to experience a few growing pains a long the way, the promise of a bright future outshines the frustrations. The last piece of undeveloped property (130 acres) located behind the new Oaks at Lakeway is being considered for a unique arts district that will give Lake Travis residents a cultural beacon of its own.

What’s important for Lake Travis residents to know is the amount of care involved in this decision. The City of Lakeway has a rare opportunity to determine how the land will be used. And they fully understand it is the last huge stretch of property located in the epicenter of a growing and thriving community. It’s not a question of what should that land look like, but a question of what is our vision.

Le Garage Boutique Sale in Austin: January 24 – 25

Written by Cathy Hale | January 20, 2015

Le Garage Sale Austin

It’s time for the fanciest semi-annual garage sale of all, Le Garage Sale. More than 70 local boutiques, designers and shops will be participating including Lake Travis faves like Adorn and Fab’rik, as well as other fashionista destinations like Beehive, Estilo, Exit 82 Art, Limbo Jewelry (our Jan. giveaway partner!), Sikara & Co. and Raven & Lilly just to name a few.

A $10 ticket gets you in the door, so you’d better have your game face on. This event is all about current fall/winter fashions and there are racks and racks of awesome finds. Shoppers tend to start lining up HOURS before the doors open to get their hands on the best bargains. That’s how serious Austinites take Le Garage. In addition to clothing, you’ll find all kinds of accessories from jewelry to bags to shoes to scarves and home decor — and everything in between!

Lake Travis Local: Meet Interior Designer Jenny Cokins

Written by Cathy Hale | January 14, 2015

Jenny Cokins Interior Design

We all know interior design is big business, but it’s also an art that requires planning, creativity, an appreciation and understanding for function and space — not to mention lots of fine-tuning.

My first real brush with the world of interior design occurred when our home was featured on an HGTV show in 2011 and our celebrity designer was Tom Filicia. Per usual for a reality show, we weren’t allowed to give our input or see what was actually happening in our house. When the final reveal took place, I could not contain my emotions. The transformation was unbelievable!

If you’re seeking a transformation of your own this year, you’ll be happy to meet a Lake Travis resident who makes that kind of “magic” happen, Jenny Cokins.
