It’s an exciting time to live in the Lake Travis area, because new businesses — like Hill Country Cakery, FOUND Boutique, Vicecreme, Gateway to Falconhead, and Summermoon Coffee — are popping up everywhere.

Next on the list is a new beer garden …

It’s called Hops & Thyme and it’s promising delicious suds with a smile, a shady outdoor oasis, and tasty eats.

We’ve also got details about the new location for Beansprout Pediatric in Dripping Springs and an update on Bee Cave City Council’s decision to postpone The Backyard development. Again. Oy!

Lake Travis at a Glance: New Cakery Bakery Moving In, Flint Rock Roadwork & Honoring Veterans in Lakeway

Last week, we chatted about the business boom in the Lake Travis area and we’ve only just begun.

Today we’ve got the details on a new bakery moving into the space formerly occupied by Sweet Bakery in Lakeway. And it looks delicious!

We’ve also got details about the status of Flint Rock Road, Flint Rock Trace and Lohmans Spur roadwork and here’s a hint: not done yet, but it will be soon.

Plus, the Spirit of Freedom monument in Lakeway is accepting names of local veterans for Veterans Day 2017.

Have you heard The Ginger Man has officially inked a lease in the Hill Country Galleria?

We’ve also got sushi, wings, and fresh ice cream headed to Gateway at Falconhead, which is currently under construction.

If you’re a Lakeway resident, you may have noticed your solid waste bill was a bit higher this month. We’ll explain why.

Lake Travis at a Glance: The Backyard Breaks Ground Despite Caveat, Gumbo’s on the Lake & Coyote Sightings

Have you noticed how happy everyone’s been in the Lake Travis area lately?

We think it’s because the clouds, cooler temps and summer showers are keeping Lake Travis residents from losing their minds … AKA roasting in the sun. Sure, the humidity sucks, but look on the bright side — it’s not 101 degrees!

There’s a lot of news buzzing about the ground breaking ceremony that took place this past weekend at The Backyard. Ever wonder what a “creative business campus” is? Did you know the phrase “techno-luxury” is a thing? Evidently it is.

And speaking of luxury, have you been to Gumbo’s on the Lake yet? If not, you’re missing out on a chic spot to satisfy your Cajun cravings complete with an amazing view of Lake Travis as pictured above.

Summer is finally here and there’s so much to do in the Lake Travis area!

New restaurants are open for business like Hat Creek Burger Company and our favorite local distillery, Crystal Creek has re-opened. There are cooking classes, summer camps and paint nights at Hill Country Galleria. Plus, outdoor activities galore like camping, fishing, wake boarding, sailing, golf, cycling and more.
