Lake Travis SpringFest: The Biggest Time in the Smallest Town

Written by Mandy Spivey | April 21, 2014

Lake Travis SpringFest

Where in the world can you find the combination of kid-friendly activities, live music, wine tastings from local vineyards, craft beers, the Lake Travis Rib King BBQ cook-off, a boat expo, and shopping from over 75 artisan vendors all in one place?

It’s Lake Travis SpringFest! This annual event is officially happening at The Backyard in Bee Cave this Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26.

The big kick-off starts on Friday night at 6pm with the WineStomp and wine tastings from local wineries including Spicewood Vineyard, Stone House Vineyard and several others.

Let your kids wear themselves out at the SpringFest KidZone, an area the size of a football field filled with all kinds of fun to keep them busy for hours. And as the sun goes down in the Hill Country, get ready to sing-along during an under-the-Texas-sky screening of the Disney movie “Frozen” starting at 8pm.

SpringFest continues on Saturday from 11am to 7pm for a full day of shopping, eating, beer and wine tasting, BBQ cook-off, live music and more.

Swing by the Craft BrewHaus and sample some of the newest brews from our neighbors at Infamous Brewing Company and Jester King Brewery, just to name a few. Food offerings will come in the form of smoky meats (think BBQ) and food trucks, like Fire & Slice and Gonzo Austin.

And of course, in the true spirit of Austin, there will be live music to enjoy all day Saturday.

There’s a lot of free stuff at SpringFest — and a few things you’ll have to pay for. Grab some cash for the small entry fee at the Craft BrewHaus and Winestomp. Also, tickets for KidZone rides must be purchased separately and parking is $5 on Saturday.

All in all, the weekend is set to be an exciting one — there’s just one question: What are you going to do first?

See ya there!
