Where do you find the best pizza in Lake Travis?
With so many delicious pizza options around Lake Travis, a girl really has her work cut out for her. Between decisions of where to grab a slice of ‘za around the lake, whether that pizzeria is in Austin, Spicewood, Bee Cave or Lakeway, there was only one way to settle the question — I had to taste my way out of this one.
What I found (and tasted) was nothing short of a delectable dilemma; to tailor down this list was to judge each slice among each other, considering their varying styles, dough thickness, and options for toppings.
Lucky for us, there’s no shortage of awesome pizza in Lake Travis and beyond. Whether you’re looking for a fancy sit down meal or a quick slice during your lunch break, LT Lifestyle brings you some of the best pizza in Lake Travis.
Here are the top ten (in no particular order):
Austin:
Hill Country Pasta House – A food staple for Hudson Bend, this Italian eatery boasts a creative menu of brick oven pizzas, from the Classic to the spicy Serrano, there’s a taste for everyone in the family.
Their crust is thin and crispy, and they pile on the toppings for a very filling pizza in the end. Personal pizzas make the perfect meal for families that can’t decide on what to share.
Lakeside Pizza and Grill – This Steiner Ranch favorite is located near the center of the community across from the entrance of the UT Golf Club. Basing their pizza philosophy on offering Lake Travis residents the freshest ingredients, their topping menu is expansive at 30 toppings, with an almost endless number of delicious combinations.
You can choose all of them yourself or order one of their specialty pizzas, such as the Athena or the popular Steiner Ranch Special. And they offer gluten free dough to boot.
360 Pizza – Just a short drive out to North Capital of Texas Highway and you’ll find some of the best slices around. One of my favorite places on the list, their crust is thin and in the New York-style. Their oven is hot (like, 500 degrees hot). It all comes together for a pizza that never disappoints.
Try one of the specialty pizzas, such as the Blanca 360 when you’re in the mood for a white pizza or the Been to the Greenbelt for the veggie-lover in you.
Saccones Pizza & Subs – Served piping hot and dripping with cheese and toppings, this New Jersey-style pizza is a must-try. Their pizzas are a full 18 inches, or if you’re in the mood for a smaller bite, this pizzeria serves slices until 8 pm.
Their focus on customer service and truly bringing the N.J. pizza experience to the Lake Travis area is apparent throughout the restaurant and in their slices. River Place Country Club has partnered with Saccone’s Pizza to bring their famous “Pizza with a Jersey Attitude” for pick up or delivery in the Four Points area.
Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza – A little further out in the Hill Country is a favorite of mine, a pizzeria that made its home on the front lawn of an old style Farmhouse brewery, Jester King Brewery. Open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon, this pair of pizza and brews is a perfect combination to savor on the weekend.
Try the Willie or the Lana for a cheese-tastic good time, and enjoy the fresh toppings and ingredients sourced from local farms in the Hill Country.
Bee Cave:
Tony C’s Coal Fired Pizza – A favorite among Lake Travis locals, this pizza eatery is located in the Hill Country Galleria and takes its name from the infamous hearthstone oven used to cook these doughy discs. The end result from this cooking method is nothing short of a delicious pizza miracle.
Tuesdays are buy one pizza, get one pizza free — which is the perfect excuse to head out for a hot one during the midweek. Creative concoctions such as the Fig & Honey pizza will give the food adventurist in you a run for your money.
River Hills Pizza Co. – Tucked away behind the Shell station in Bee Cave is one of the best rated pizza joints in the Lake Travis area. River Hills Pizza Co. might look unassuming from the outside, but their pizza really packs a punch. Never skimping on the toppings, they pride themselves on offering Bee Cave the best in ‘za and calzones alike.
The Working Man is a heap of pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage and hamburger. If you’re in the mood for a lighter meal, try the Old World, with roasted red peppers, bell peppers, garlic and more.
Lakeway:
Mangieri’s Pizza Cafe – Get your taste buds ready, it’s pizza night and it’s time to call Mangieri’s. You can take out or dine in, and with a playground on-site, you know the kiddos will stay entertained way past dad’s third or fourth slice. Their pizzas boast many layers of toppings and their gluten-free crust is something to brag about.
Seeking to offer Lakeway pizza lovers a one-of-a-kind dining experience, you can choose from 20 specialty pizzas, from the Cashew Chicken to the Hot Pig.
The Grove – One of the newest pizza restaurants on the list, this eatery opened in 2013 in hopes of offering Lakeway the same famous foods that their Westlake location is best known for. It’s always family-friendly and a scenic way to inhale a few slices of ‘za.
Overlook the hills of Central Texas and enjoy a specialty pizza like the Popeye and Olive Oil, or be your own pizza artist and build your own. It’s a casual and delicious stop on your pizza journey.
Dripping Springs:
Carmela’s Pizzeria – Open for dinner, this Italian eatery has a little bit of everything if you’re in the mood for marinara. From the traditional Margherita pizza to the Southwestern with goat cheese, jalapenos, Southwest Chipotle pesto and more. It’s on the way home from Hamilton Pool, so it’s a perfect stop on your way back if the family is getting hungry after a day in the sun.
The next time you’re in the area or out on the lake, stop by some of the fine pizza eateries in the Lake Travis area. We have more than plenty out here to try!

Our favorite spot was not on the list. Have to give a shout out to Craig-O’s. Not only are they the yummiest, they also support our local kids. Thanks for the run-down of good pizza spots but I couldn’t not mention Craig-O’s!!!
