Summer is finally here and there’s so much to do in the Lake Travis area!
New restaurants are open for business like Hat Creek Burger Company and our favorite local distillery, Crystal Creek has re-opened. There are cooking classes, summer camps and paint nights at Hill Country Galleria. Plus, outdoor activities galore like camping, fishing, wake boarding, sailing, golf, cycling and more.
Let’s take a quick look, shall we?
Food + Drink
The new Hat Creek Burger Company location at Oaks at Lakeway is officially open for business. The restaurant hours are 7am-9pm Sunday – Thursday and 7am-9:30pm on Friday and Saturday.
It’s worth noting breakfast is served daily until 10:30am with menu items like tacos, egg plates, pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. And, of course, Cuvee Coffee.
Did you know we’ve got a local moonshine distillery in Spicewood? Yep, it’s Crystal Creek Moonshine and they have re-opened for business. It’s craft moonshine made from Texas grown ingredients with combinations like Classic Shine, Serrano Cucumber, Blackberry Mint, Coffee Pecan and Peach Lavender.
Yeah, this isn’t your grandpa’s moonshine! Check out the Crystal Creek website for distillery hours.
Live Local!
If you live in Austin, you know Stubb’s Bar-B-Q is delicious, but physically getting to it isn’t easy. Well, you don’t have to drive downtown for a juicy bite, because there’s a Stubb’s near the Y at Oak Hill.
It’s Stubb’s at Graceland Grocery located at 8600 US-290 W. It’s a little barbecue oasis with big shady trees, outdoor seating, live music and a playscape for the kiddos. Who knew, right?
Outdoors
If you haven’t spent time enjoying the beauty of Lake Travis recently, it’s time to get out there and soak it in. A beautiful place to spend time outdoors by the lake is at Windy Point Park at 6505 Bob Wentz Park Rd.
You can picnic, camp, go scuba diving or go boating. The only thing you can’t do here is go fishing and that’s because of the scuba diving. But there’s plenty to do and see on the shores of Lake Travis. Check out the Windy Point Park website for rates.
Shopping
You can shop all summer long at Hill Country Galleria! Enjoy all of the impressive renovations that were in the works last summer, but are completed now. Plus, HCG tenants are hosting a variety of events for kids and adults throughout the summer months.
We Olive & Wine Bar is offering paint nights, cooking classes and pairing dinners. PAIYH has summer camps like Trolls Takeover, Dance Party Days and Nutcracker Magic. Frost Bank is doing summer treats with popsicles and snow cones.
HCG is hosting monthly wine walks, Saturday Night Concert Series at the plaza and the annual Fourth of July bash with a huge fireworks show. Check out the HCG calendar for a full list of events.
