Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: December 19 – 21

We are heading into the final weekend before Christmas!

If you’re like most of us, you probably have a few more gifts to grab. Be sure and check out the Shop & Drop with MyTime Kids Gym if you need a few hours of shopping without the little ones. And when you have everything wrapped up and you’re looking for something to do, check out the weekend events going on in and around the Lake Travis area.

If you want to feel like it’s winter here in Austin, head over to the Omni Barton Creek Resort for ice skating or catch the last snow day of the year at the Hill Country Galleria.

It looks like the rain will be tapering off and we’ll have a sunny weekend. Enjoy this beautiful place we get to call home!

Snow Day at the Hill Country Galleria located outside of the the Bee Cave Library. Check the event Facebook Page for weather updates and cancellations (12:00pm – 4:00pm)

Shop & Drop with MyTime Kids Gym at the Musicians Woodshed where parents can leave their kids to shop for the holidays. (9-12p , 12-3p, or all day 9-3p)

All Ages Art Class at Painting with a Twist in Lakeway Check the event calendar for All Ages Classes happening throughout the Christmas break (December 20 – 30)

Sunday, December 21

Lone Star Farmers Market in the Shops at the Galleria (10:00am – 2:00pm) with live music by the Sassy Spurs from 11:00am – 2:00pm.

50th year of the Trail of Lights in Zilker Park This is the final weekend! December 7 – 21 (7:00pm – 10:00pm)

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar at the Palmer Events Center (December 16 – 24)

Ballet Austin’s The Nutcracker at the Long Center (now through December 23)

JUNK at the Thinkery is a whimsical exploration of waste and recycling presented by the Thinkery in collaboration with guest artist Zach Dorn. Nov. 15, 2014 through Jan. 25, 2015

Get Out of Town

Magic of Hill Country Christmas Lights in Johnson City This holiday season bring your family to enjoy the magic and beauty of over two million LED lights spread over a mile long drive-thru light display, located one mile outside of Johnson City, TX on hwy 281. The display will be open nightly from November 22, 2014 – January 1, 2015 from 6:00pm – 11:00pm. Admission is free, but donations are accepted to help keep the display burning bright.

Weekday Happenings

Alamo Kids Camp at Alamo Drafthouse Families can enjoy $1 movies (admission will benefit local nonprofits). Admission is on a first come, first served basis and tickets must be purchased at the box office the day of the event. (December 19 – 31)
