Lake Travis Lifestyle

Your Guide to Lake Travis, Austin TX

FIND is Breathing New Life Into Antique Furnishings in Lake Travis

Written by Cathy Hale | July 23, 2015

FIND just celebrated its soft opening last weekend, but the Texas Hill Country is already buzzing about this new store. Why? Well, it’s an eclectic mix of traditional antiques and reupholstered, modernized antiques, as well as decor with a vintage feel and replicas with a wow factor.

“It’s the ultimate in recycling,” explains co-owner Kim Neal. “I love antique furnishings and decor because they have their own history and stories to tell. At FIND, we’re just giving these things a new life with a new look!”

Kim attributes her love of antiques and vintage finds to her father who is an antique dealer. “It’s in my DNA!” she laughs. Kim has lived in the Lake Travis area for 15 years and all three of her kiddos are graduates of LTHS! “LT is my home,” she smiles. “I love the attitude, the resort lifestyle, the beauty and the people. We have everything at our fingertips!”

When Kim Neal met fellow LT resident and antique aficionado Brent Charlet, owner of Adorn Boutique in Lakeway, the entrepreneurial duo realized they had a lot in common.

Before Brent and his wife Kim Charlet moved to Austin and opened Adorn, Brent owned an architectural salvage store in Louisiana. “I’ve always had a passion for furniture and design,” he says. “It’s in my blood!”

Kim Neal and Brent decided the Lake Travis area was the perfect spot to launch FIND. In anticipation of their new business, they started collecting and curating pieces from Europe and the United States in December 2014, so when they found space at 3595 Ranch Road 620 S., everything fell into place.

They have a showroom chock-full of amazing items from antique typewriters and vintage suitcases to industrial light fixtures, mid-century modern chairs, couches and more. The dazzling pieces in the store have been refinished and/or reupholstered, so they all look perfect. A walk through the showroom is like an adventure, because it’s impossible not to stop and admire everything in its “new life” glory.

Plus, they have an adjoining warehouse full of unique items in search of new homes like trunks, antique glass, gate leg tables, sofas and much more. Let’s say you find that perfect accent chair you’ve been searching for, but it’s currently brown and you want it to be hot pink. And velvet. Yep, they can do that!

In addition to the antiques, the showroom is peppered with beautiful modern items that embrace a vintage feel like decorative book letters, wood plaques, coasters, lamps, candles and throw pillows.

The official grand opening of FIND will take place in September and Lake Travis Lifestyle will be celebrating by doing a giveaway. (Woot!) Stay tuned to LTL for more details.

Until then, you can still shop fabulous finds in FIND Tues. – Sat. from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
