Lake Travis Development: 3 North Shore Residential Projects Giving a New Look to Old 1431

The familiar landscape of Ranch to Market 1431 west of U.S. 183 toward the Texas Hill Country is changing.

Yes, its serpentine path is still lined with seemingly endless groves of mountain cedar, live oaks and the occasional stand of silver maples. But emerging from the hillsides along the highway — running more or less parallel to Lake Travis — is a different strain of growth.

We’re talking planned residential communities that expect to bring upward of 5,000 new homes to the North Shore of Lake Travis. And, as the real estate axiom goes, retail follows rooftops, so the projects will likely spin-off additional commercial development.

There have been a lot of changes at the Lakeway Regional Medical Center in 2015. And 2016 looks to hold a lot more great things to come.

Lakeway Regional Medical Center is primed to become the premier hospital in Central Texas for complex brain, spine, and joint procedures. In addition, the hospital recently has been designated the Emergency Preparedness Command Center for Western Travis County.

So how did LRMC, known for being a beautiful — but a bit of an empty hospital — become one of the centers of medical innovation in the Lake Travis area?

Oaks at Lakeway Development Update: More Restaurants Coming Soon

With the opening of H-E-B in Lakeway, a slew of new restaurants are set to open in the beginning of 2016 as part of the Oaks at Lakeway development.

January is the month for at least a couple of places with firm opening dates. And as more of the finishing touches come together, it won’t be long before you have several new choices for food, drink, and entertainment in the Lake Travis area.

Lake Travis Development Update: Here Comes Main Street, Howdy High 5 & More

If you’ve driven by the new Oaks at Lakeway development on RR 620, you may have noticed the Main St. sign is ready for business. Well, on one side of the street.

As per the initial development agreement, Glen Heather Drive has been renamed Main Street and this road will serve as the main entrance into the Oaks at Lakeway.

Plus, there’s a new traffic light looming over this soon-to-be busy intersection, which has us traffic-weary locals feeling slightly stressed.
