Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: December 19 – 21

We are heading into the final weekend before Christmas!

If you’re like most of us, you probably have a few more gifts to grab. Be sure and check out the Shop & Drop with MyTime Kids Gym if you need a few hours of shopping without the little ones. And when you have everything wrapped up and you’re looking for something to do, check out the weekend events going on in and around the Lake Travis area.

If you want to feel like it’s winter here in Austin, head over to the Omni Barton Creek Resort for ice skating or catch the last snow day of the year at the Hill Country Galleria.

It looks like the rain will be tapering off and we’ll have a sunny weekend. Enjoy this beautiful place we get to call home!

Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: December 12 – 14

December is a month filled with holiday celebrations and traditions. A favorite local tradition is evident as hundreds of trees that line our roadways and neighborhood streets get decorated with a variety of ornaments, garland, sports paraphernalia and other creations that brighten up our drive.

There are plenty of reasons to get out on the road this weekend and check out some of the holiday events and traditions in and around the Lake Travis area.

This festive weekend is filled with everything from holiday concerts to the Vandegrift Vipers competing against Temple in the state semifinals at the Alamodome this Saturday. Once again, there is snow in the forecast with another snow day at the Hill Country Galleria on Sunday. Looking ahead to next week is the start of the 39th Annual Armadillo Christmas Bazaar on Tuesday, December 16.

Our beautiful town is getting decked out in its holiday best so head on out there and enjoy it!

Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: December 5 – 7

You’ll have a tough decision to make this weekend with everything that is happening in and around the Lake Travis area. You don’t want to miss the annual Lights On! celebration in Lakeway tonight but might want to head downtown for the Trail of Lights Preview Party.

Along with all the lights to check out, there are a couple of holiday sing-alongs, a Christmas Bazaar at the Iguana Grill, The Nutcracker presented by the TexARTS Youth Ballet Theatre and …

Snow is in the forecast!

Be outside of the Bee Cave Library at the Hill Country Galleria on Saturday at noon for a snow day — sure to be a big hit with the kids.

'Tis the Season for Trail of Lights in Austin & Lake Travis

If nothing gets you in a festive mood more than twinkling lights on a starry night, hot chocolate and Christmas trees, then we have two must-see activities for you. We’re lucky because we have two Trails of Lights — one in downtown Austin at Zilker Park and a smaller version of fun in Lakeway behind City Hall.

Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: November 21 – 23

It’s the weekend before Thanksgiving and the tree lighting ceremonies are underway!

It all started last night with the 8th Annual Tree Lighting at the Hill Country Galleria. The festivities continue with more holiday lighting events taking place at The Domain and around the Hill Country in Johnson City, Marble Falls and New Braunfels.

Are you traveling for Thanksgiving this year? Prepare yourself — it’s going to take longer to get to that turkey and dressing. The experts who track travel for a living say that an improving economy, more disposable income, consumer optimism and low gas prices are combining to create the biggest Thanksgiving travel rush in years. Yikes!

Relax and enjoy your weekend before the craziness begins … or did it already?
