Is it just us, or does 2017 seem to be flying by at a rapid pace? Next week, spring break is upon us!
Thanks to all of this lovely rain, Lake Travis remains 100% full, so all of your favorite lake activities can be enjoyed at your leisure.
Plus, the days are about to get longer — next weekend we move to Daylight Saving Time — so get ready to “spring forward” at 2am on Sunday, March 12th.
If you’re staying local, it’s a beautiful time to be here and enjoy everything the Lake Travis area has to offer. Here are 30 fun things to do during Spring Break in the Lake Travis area:
#30 – Wake up early and grab breakfast at Cafe Lago in Lakeway. This quaint Lake Travis coffee shop has been serving smiles and tasty eats to the LT community for 24 years.
#29 – Make a splash at some of the most popular water holes in the state of Texas, Hamilton Pool Preserve, Krause Springs, Windy Point Park, and Bob Wentz Park.
#28 – Cute patios-a-plenty at Oaks at Lakeway! Perfect for a meal or a cocktail. Pick one or all of them including Torchy’s, Toscano, McArthur’s, and Table 620 in H-E-B, complete with a turf playground for the kiddos.
#27 – If it’s Sunday, visit the Lone Star Farmers Market and enjoy local produce and locally inspired artisan foods. Music, crafts, fun for the kiddos & more! Every Sunday from 10am until 2pm.
#26 – Enjoy a brew with a view. Try a London Homesick Ale from Oasis Texas Brewing Company, the GABF (Great American Beer Festival) 2014 Gold Medal Winner.
#25 – Don’t own a boat? No problem. Make a splash at Lakeway Marina where you can rent boats, water sport vehicles and private fishing guides. If you’re around Emerald Point Marina, visit the folks at Just For Fun Watercraft Rental and they’ll get you on the lake in style.
#24 – If you just want to take a dip in the lake and feel the squishy shore under your toes, check out lake access at Pace Bend Park, Windy Point Park, and Dink Pearson Park.
#23 – Treat yourself to weekend brunch at Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar in the Trails at 620. Enjoy their craft bar with wine on tap, craft beer and homemade bitters for craft cocktails and a delicious locally-sourced seasonal menu. Y-U-M.
#22 – Grab your family and friends for a slice of happiness — pizza! We did a local round-up of eight of LT’s favorite pizza spots in honor of National Pizza Day.
#21 – Take your DIY skills to new levels at Home Depot’s free workshops for guys and gals: Outdoor lighting on March 11, vertical herb garden on March 17 and install a ceiling fan on March 18 (at Bee Cave location).
#20 – Find out why Lake Travis residents are buzzing about Apis Resturant & Apiary in Spicewood, voted one of Austin’s best restaurants by Austin Monthly and the Austin American-Statesman. Make a reservation or hit the bar for The Apiary, a craft cocktail with honey made from their own hives.
#19 – Take a Hill Country day trip to Enchanted Rock for picnics and camping under the Texas sky. Plus, it’s a great place for Texas Bluebonnet sightings.
#18 – Make an impromptu playdate for your puppy by visiting one of the local dog parks in the Lake Travis area like Bark Park or Bee Cave Dog Park at Central Park.

#11 – Bring your appetite to Noble Sandwich Co. for proper summer pigging out. This eatery has been featured on various shows on Food Network and mentioned in every foodie magazine. And when you bite into one of their mouth-watering sandwiches, you’ll understand why.
