Spooktacular Giveaway: Halloween Gift Basket from Party Couture

Written by Cathy Hale | October 7, 2014

October Giveaway

Halloween is right around the corner and here at Lake Travis Lifestyle, we know nobody loves Halloween more than the LT community. We don’t just get multiple costumes for the kiddos, we all dress up. Pets included! We love tacky inflatables for the yard. The bigger, the better! We buy bags and bags and bags of Halloween candy. We trick-or-treat via golf cart, which is also decorated. Everything is bigger in Texas, right?

In honor of Halloween, we have partnered with Party Couture to offer an awesome Spooktacular Giveaway featuring a gift basket of Halloween goodies valued at $100! This cute, decorative, wicker basket contains Halloween-themed paper plates, cups, napkins, bamboo utensils, glow-in-the-dark costume accessories, a ceramic “Spider Legs” plate, helium balloons and more! The winner gets to bring these cute Halloween balloons to Party Couture where they will inflate them for you. Bonus!

Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: October 3 – 5

Written by Todd Hower | October 3, 2014

LTL Weekend Oct3

It’s weekend one of the Austin City Limits Music Festival and like any festival as big as ACL, it can come with mixed emotions. It’s hard not to love all the live music, eats, Austin kiddie limits, the art market and more. On the other hand, you have crowds and crowds of people and crazy traffic.

So that usually leaves you with two choices — you’re going to head downtown and brave the crowds to enjoy this iconic Austin event, or you’re going to shack up like a hermit for the next two weekends and hope that some day this event will move to another city. But if you decide on the latter, you don’t need to be a recluse … there are plenty of things for you to do around the Lake Travis area where you can enjoy live music and several other family friendly activities with much smaller crowds (I recommend the 1st Annual Poodie Party in Spicewood).

Get out there and enjoy the perfect fall weather that is here for the weekend!

Sun Radio: Broadcasting Roots Rock N' Roll with Solar Power

Written by Mandy Spivey | October 2, 2014

100.1 Sun Radio

There’s a new sound being broadcast out of Bee Cave that seeks to shine a light on Austin’s music culture. And it’s all running on solar power.

If you haven’t had a chance to tune into 100.1 FM you might not have noticed the toe-tapping sounds of real Americana music that Sun Radio is blasting on the air waves. We’re talking genres from folk to rockabilly, honky tonk piano to smoking hot guitar.

What began as an off-the-air, low power FM station broadcasting out of a studio above a quilting studio in Dripping Springs has turned into a fully solar powered radio station at the Hill Country Galleria that reaches all over Central Texas and beyond, thanks to the wonders of internet radio.
