You may remember the mother-and-daughter owned shop, The Wardrobe, located in Revival. When Revival closed its doors for good in 2017, The Wardrobe relocated and officially opened on April 19 at the Gateway to Falconhead.
The Wardrobe is about triple the size of its old location, which was only 850 square feet. The bigger showroom can accommodate more merchandise and more significant items like furniture and lighting, which owners Karen and Danika are excited about.
Shopping at The Wardrobe gives you a casual, yet stylish hometown feeling and reminds you that even in Lake Travis, you can Keep Austin Weird.
Local artisans
One way The Wardrobe embraces its Austin-y vibe is by featuring local artisans. For example, one of the lines they carry is from an Austin artist named Rainey. She makes adorable earrings out of vintage cookie and tea tins.
Another popular line at The Wardrobe is Debbie Carroll, an Austin artist who incorporates vintage beads and goodies — like trinkets you’d find at an estate sale — into her jewelry with contemporary beads and stones like Turquoise, Iolite, Chalcedony, and Coral.
Furniture for sale
Karen says customers are elated when they find out the vintage and refurbished furniture is not just being used for display purposes, it’s actually for sale. Everything from art deco to mid-century modern. And the eclectic light fixtures are gorgeous too.
In addition to home goods and textiles and dishes, The Wardrobe sells clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Plus, a vast assortment of one-of-a-kind gift items.
Shopper’s delight
When you’re in the mood to spend a few hours shopping for your home or yourself, it’s extra convenient that Magpie Blossom Boutique and The Wardrobe are neighbors. Both stores curate to perfection, and although they sell similar items, the stores are still uniquely their own.
This little slice of Gateway to Falconhead is becoming the perfect destination for LT ladies who like to shop.
