This Weekend in the Lake Travis Area: August 8 – 10

With only a couple of weeks left before the start of school, it’s time to cram in all the fun stuff you said you were going to do before summer is over. Luckily, this weekend is jam packed with unique events to add some spark to the few weekends left this summer.

Of note is the Texas Tax Free Weekend happening all weekend long. Another event I highly recommend is the Balloons over Lake Travis — it’s not easy rolling out of bed on a Saturday morning before the sun comes up, but this event is worth it!

Balloons over Lake Travis The balloons plan to launch from Mansfield Dam Park at sunrise (approx. 6:45) Get there around 6:15am to allow time for parking and to watch the balloons get ready to launch.

Hawaiian Luau Party at The Cigar Room in Lakeway (noon to midnight)
