If you’re looking for a place to dine with a view, then you’re going to want to check out this new addition to the Lake Travis area restaurant scene.
The Grove sits on one of the highest points in Lakeway with a sweeping vista looking out to Lake Travis and beyond. Whether you’re sitting at the bar, in the dining room, or at a table on the outdoor patio, there really isn’t a bad seat in the house.
There are many restaurants in the Lake Travis area that have been sandwiched into a mini-shopping center type of space — The Grove’s location is a breath of fresh air. You’ll have plenty of room to check-in with the hostess without fighting through a crowd of people waiting to be seated.
And on the busiest of nights, you don’t even have to wait outside. The Grove has a decent sized bar with a large seating area and fantastic views. It’s a perfect place to start up some conversation over a glass of wine.
If you walk in on a busy night, you might be waiting up to an hour for a table. It’s recommended that you make a reservation if you want to be seated promptly.
The menu has a creative selection of mixed bruschetta along with small plates and samplers to get started. If you’re eating lite, you’ll find a few classic house salad and soup options along with larger sized entree salads. The rest of the menu consists of pastas, specialty pizzas, panini sandwiches and The Grove’s Kobe beef burger. Featured plates have your proteins covered with a selection that includes fish, beef, chicken, and pork.
All the food is prepared from scratch and using organic produce when possible. The menu is set up so you can easily choose items that are gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, or vegan.
Stop by for lunch Monday-Friday from 11-3 and try the lunch pizza/salad/soup combo for less than ten bucks. Most dinner menu items are priced under $20. The Beef Tenderloin and Seared Miso Glazed Sea Bass top the featured plates at just under $30.
The Grove is a wine bar, so as you can imagine the selection is extensive. You can choose wine by the glass, flight or bottle. The wine menu has sparkling, white, red, and dessert wines from all over the world. And like the owners say … trust your taste and don’t worry what the wine critics have to say. If you like it, then it’s all good.
If you find that special wine that has your palate singing, then take a bottle home. All retail purchases are 25% off.
The Grove is a full service restaurant with optional valet parking service. The reviews are starting to come in for this second location (the original is in West Lake). Check out what the Yelpers are saying.
