If enjoying tasty Italian fair is on your appetite’s To-Do list, Trattoria Toscano in Oaks at Lakeway says, “Benvenuto!” The restaurant opened in September 2016, so it’s still relatively new to the Lake Travis area.
While Trattoria Toscano may be new, its lineage is not. It’s locally owned and operated by the same folks who own Brick Oven Red River, Brick Oven at the Arboretum, Baretto, and Siena.
Let’s just say they know how to deliver a rustic Tuscan dining experience.
Trattoria Toscano Menu
The menu has everything you would want to sample at a true Italian eatery. From antipasta like Wild Boar Bruschetta to a baby spinach salad to pasta dishes like Penne Salsiccia — grilled Italian sausage, mushrooms, capers, and feta.
Dinner specials feature baked eggplant, veal, salmon, chicken, and beef tenderloin.
With all of these options, there should be something for everyone. Even vegetarians. (Of course, meatatarians have way more choices, but who’s counting.)
Desserts like Tiramisu, Semifreddo, and Gelato are definitely big enough to share.
A Lovely Lunch Spot
Trattoria Toscano’s lunch specials are perfect if you’re looking for daytime dining options in Lakeway. I had the Petto di Pollo al Gorgonzola — chicken breast, sauteed spinach, whipped potatoes covered in a Gorgonzola sauce and toasted walnuts. It was delicious!
The portion was big enough to finish — like a good lunchtime meal — but I opted to take half of it home for later. The best part was the impressive Gorgonzola cream sauce, rich and flavorful.
What You’ll See Inside
Trattoria Toscano in Lakeway features a roomy dining area with various seating options for parties of all size.
The circular bar has bar seating, high-top tables, and a few booths.
The warm interior features exposed brick, modern wood accents, custom light fixtures, and yellow walls peppered with colorful artwork.
The vibe is inviting and casual, but has an upscale feel. It’s the perfect spot for date night or a gathering with friends and family.
Take It Outside
The outdoor, dog-friendly patio has a shade structure and umbrellas, so when the perfect Texas weather arrives, Toscano will be ready. It’s a convenient spot to grab lunch or enjoy a glass of vino.
Nighttime on the patio is cute thanks to the sparkling strings of lights.
V-I-N-O
And last but certainly not least, Trattoria Toscano knows fermented grapes.
The wine list is wonderful and you can give it a try during the week with one of the weekday specials. On Tuesday, they have $12 bottles of wine and half price bubbles on Thursday.
It’s easy to discover the perfect pairing that makes your palette happy.
What’s your favorite dish at Toscano? Which wine do you pair it with?
