Heritage Oak in Cedar Park

Over four hundred years ago, an acorn fell to the ground, split, and sent out a tiny shoot seeking light. From those humble beginnings came a live oak that is now nearly 60 feet tall and spreading over 80 feet. It’s the central feature of Heritage Oak Park at 875 Quest Parkway in Cedar Park.

For global perspective, in 1615 Pocahontas gave birth to her son Thomas. That year, the shogun lay siege to Osaka Castle in Japan. Closer to home, the tree would have been over seventy years old when the Spanish and French began squabbling over Tejas in 1685. The city of Cedar Park itself wouldn’t go by that name until 1887, when it was changed from Bruggerhoff.
