If you haven’t made it to Lake Travis’ favorite farm destination — Sweet Berry Farm — you have a couple of days left. Sweet Berry Farm’s ‘Harvest the Fall Fun’ season closes to the public this weekend until March 2015. There are still cute little pumpkins left, but supply is limited. However; have no fear! There’s plenty of fun things to do aside from pumpkin pickin’.
Located in Marble Falls, Sweet Berry Farm has been THE local field trip destination for years. Nobody rocks a school field trip to the farm like the knowledgeable ‘Farm Hands’ at Sweet Berry Farm. This functioning farm has plenty of activities everyone will enjoy like:
- Scarecrow Island Hayrides
- Candy Corn Kid’s Maze
- Pumpkin Painting
- The ‘Texas’ Hayfield Maze for ages 6 and up (It’s a 4-acre field in the shape of Texas!)
- Sweet Berry Express Barrel Train
- Ice Cream (You must try the Pumpkin Pie flavor!)
- Pet the Horses and Goats
- Face Painting (“I want a unicorn, mommy!”)
- Pumpkin Grille (Two words. Grilled corn.)
Sweet Berry Farm is famous for its strawberry and pumpkin seasons, but they offer a variety of harvesting fun including picking your own blackberries (May-June), peaches (May-June), digging your own potatoes (May) and tomatoes (May-June). Admission is free, so you only pay for what you pick and extras at the concession stands. Since most patrons visit the farm between 10:30am–1:00pm, if you arrive before 10am, you will beat the rush. Everyone is welcome except pets — sorry folks, you need to leave Fido at home.
Saturday hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Sunday hours: 11:00am – 5:00pm
