If you haven’t crossed it off your To Do list yet, it’s time to tackle and finalize your summer camp planning.
As you know, there are tons of great summer camps in and around the Lake Travis area. Of course we have every sports-related camp you can think of to keep your kiddos active this summer. But we have lots of other types of camps too.
Did you know there’s an Emoji camp? An American Girls and Dolls camp? A Wizardry camp? A Teen Garage Band camp? Have you heard about Adulting 101 Camp? Well, you will…
Here are a few awesome summer camps in the Lake Travis area that should be on your radar:
Adulting Camp 101
This summer your kiddos can learn about real-world responsibilities at Adulting 101, a camp for children age 7-16. Camp starts at a reasonable hour in the morning, 9:30am, and ends at 7pm. A healthy chef-inspired dinner is included.
Your kiddos will learn how to make fiscally sound choices by starting their own 401(k) plan including basics about asset allocation and how to research no-name funds. Then it’s on to DIY life hacks and street smarts, so they’ll inherently know how to MacGyver themselves out of any situation with duct tape and a fidget spinner.
From coping with failure to managing shifting priorities to setting reasonable expectations, your kiddos will be ready for school next year with valuable life lessons. Plus, they’ll learn how to make Eggs Benedict for special occasions, so you can sleep late. #wishfulthinking
But seriously…

Bonus! Free bowling is good during High 5’s normal business hours (10am – close) daily. The only caveat is your kiddos must wear bowling shoes.
Sail Away with Austin Yacht Club

Camper’s learn and practice fundamental skills aboard AYC’s sailboat fleet of Opti’s, Pico’s, Lasers, Sunfish, and Flying Juniors.
Bonus! The camper to counselor ratio is amazing — 4 to 1 — ensuring you child will enjoy the sport of sailing in a safe environment.
Rock Out at the Musicians Woodshed
Another Lake Travis gem is the Musicians Woodshed and they offer wonderful summer camps for children of all ages. From intro to music to teen rock camps, Musicians Woodshed teaches kiddos about music, bands, songwriting and recording no matter what their skill set may be.
Bonus! The last day of each session features a performance where kids can showcase what they’ve learned. Take a look at highlights from past camps to see the magic unfold.
Take The Stage at TexARTS
Summertime is all about being in the spotlight at TexARTS in Lakeway. Summer camps at TexArts cover everything you’d see and do on-stage from acting and ballet to visual arts and voice. There are camps for musicals like Moana, Annie, Grease, Wicked and Trolls.
Bonus! Kiddos can do comedy camp to learn beginner improv skills or write their own sitcom. There’s a camp dedicated to helping young actors learn audition skills too. From toddler to teen, TexARTS has your theatrical tot covered.
