Sage Threads & Co. – Bringing the Latest Fashion Trends to Lake Travis

Written by Mandy Spivey | January 12, 2016

You don’t have to look over far to notice just how much the Lake Travis area has been growing lately.

The Oaks at Lakeway is being built out, the new and spacious HEB went in this year, even Lucy’s Fried Chicken made a new lakeside home this year.

But amidst all of the commotion and construction on 620, you might not have noticed the small shop that went in Lakeway Plaza just before the holiday shopping season.

Sage Threads & Co., one of the newest shopping ventures by owner Kenna Johnson, is making a huge splash in the little town of Lakeway. Tucked away next to Santa Catarina, the women’s clothier and accessories shop packs a huge fashion punch, whether you’re looking to dress up for a night downtown or just a comfy outfit to wear around on the weekend. The girls at Sage Threads & Co. have you covered.

Effortless Fashion that Fits Your Style

As much as Lakeway has been growing, one thing is for sure — there was still a huge lack of shops willing to tackle the latest trends and bring them to Lake Travis. I always have holes in my closet that need filling, whether that be from a new sweater when the Texas cold fronts hit or even a new pair of boots that go with my fave pair of jeans.

A quick visit to the shop had me intently toying with the idea of upgrading my whole wardrobe, which usually means I love a store.

You’ll be thrilled to see some of the most coveted brands being sold — Knot Sisters, Blank NYC, MINKPINK and trendy soles from Seychelles. They focus on quality in their selections and offer styles ranging from bohemian to minimalist, which is great if your fashion mood changes daily … like mine.

I was able to meet store manager and visual manager Ann Marie Graham while I shopped, and she helped me tailor down a few outfits until I found my dream sweater to purchase and take home with me.

Together, Johnson and Graham run the whole operation, from buying to social media. It’s a real labor of love that started as an online shop run by Johnson, which then expanded to include the quaint brick and mortar shop you can visit today.

Curiosities and Accessories that Inspire

You’d be missing out if you came to the shop without checking out their fun selection of gifts, accessories and small home wares. The girls are here to help you build out your lifestyle, which starts with fashion but certainly doesn’t end there.

Playful jewelry and alphabet jewelry trays make for perfect presents on the fly, but don’t forget to pick up a few things for yourself while you’re there. I loved their gold foil champagne glasses and simple prints. I spotted a few soft blanket throws that were must-haves, so I’ll be back soon for a second round of shopping once my credit card cools off a bit.

Purses and clutches for every occasion decorate the store, and if you’re searching for just the right belt or scarf, don’t be afraid to try Sage, as their selection is ever-changing and growing.
