Nope, that’s not gonna be a car wash.
That’s the brand new Austin-born, barnhouse-themed Hat Creek Burger Co. on track to open in Oaks at Lakeway in March 2017.
If you’ve driven by the construction site at 1620 S. RR 620, you’ve see the progress. And it’s pretty darn exciting.
The innovative architecture and elevation is the Hat Creek way. You can see the inspiration at every location. A distinctive barn-like design with a structure that soars into the clouds. Covered porches and inviting spaces where families can relax and enjoy a good meal together.
Hat Creek is like a restaurant-meets-play-yard-meets-picnic-area-meets-patio. It’s indoor and outdoor and then indoor again. You’ll just have to wait and see. Trust us, it’s cool.
Lake Travis residents love a good burger, so there can never be too many hamburger joints close by. Hat Creek will round out an already impressive list of burger options in the Lake Travis area — P. Terry’s, All Star Burger, Sandeez, The League — what more could a LT-er want?
Hat History
Hat Creek Burger shares a similar story with Torchy’s Tacos, a fellow Oaks at Lakeway tenant. They both started out as a food truck in Austin.
After dishing thousands of tasty burgers, Hat Creek moved to its Burnet Road location and then grew to open its flagship restaurant in Westlake in 2011. Today there are four locations in the Austin area with Lakeway and The Domain coming soon.
We caught up with Hat Creek founder and CEO Drew Gressett back in May 2016 to chat about the new Lakeway location. Hat Creek is known for its philanthropy, so we wondered if good deeds make a better burger. After chatting with Drew, we decided it does.
Living Local
Hat Creek’s Burnet location makes 100 cheeseburgers 6 days a week for Mobile Loaves & Fishes. Together with Austin Ridge Bible Church, this has been a Hat Creek tradition for more than 7 years. Giving back means doing what they do best — making burgers — for the greater good.
Hat Creek also supports organizations like Brooktown in Georgetown (BiG) and the Navy SEAL Legacy Foundation. They also partner with for-profits like Round Rock Express.
No matter where Hat Creek calls home, they love playing an active role in their community. Music to Lake Travis’ ears!
Better Burgers & More
If you haven’t been to Hat Creek before, you’re in for a treat.
Hat Creek serves up more than mouth-watering burgers made from fresh ingredients. They serve breakfast platters, organic egg options, pancakes and Cuvee coffee. They have burgers with all sorts of toppings, salads, chicken sandwiches, and a super menu for the little tots like a Tiny Hat (slider) or Flashers (chicken).
Then there are build-your-own homemade milkshakes or specialty shakes like The Dirt Worm (oreos + gummy worms) and Nanner’ Puddin’ (bananas + Nilla wafers). Oh yeah, you’ll wanna sample all of these.
Who’s ready for the fun-loving & family-friendly Hat Creek Burger Co. in Lakeway?
Maury McCoy says
Just so long as it has a huge playground… The food is fine, but the reason Chic-Fil-A is crazy busy is it’s the only indoor playground in Lakeway. If they have a playground with shade and that place will be nutty busy. If not, probably will go somewhere else.
