Join fellow revelers at one of the many New Year’s Eve celebrations taking place in the Lake Travis area. Austin may be the live music capital of the world, but there’s no shortage of great music being played at venues around the lake this New Year’s Eve.
As 2016 counts down into 2017, here are all the celebrations you need for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve in Lake Travis with something for everyone — including the kids!
Once again Sonesta Bee Cave Hotel hosts the Help Our Wounded (HOW) annual New Year’s Eve gala. HOW is an organization that provides direct aid, resources and support to severely wounded military members, and those who care for them. The NYE Gala at Sonesta will be a fun evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing to Groove Knight. Tickets are on sale ($125-$175/cash bar) and gala sponsorships are still available.
The Sunset Capital of Texas will be ringing in the New Year with Dysfunkshun Junkshun’s high-energy performance. Seating is family style, with most tables holding 10 people. $75 per person, not including tax, suggested 20% gratuity, or alcohol.
Steiner Ranch Steakhouse will shoot off fireworks at midnight, when guests will be treated to a complimentary champagne toast. There will be live music, but the name of the band is a surprise. You can enjoy a four-course menu for $75 per person, add special champagne packages (including magnums), or order a la carte off the menu.
It’s no too late to book a romantic evening at Lakeway Resort & Spa. The New Year’s Eve Package includes a bottle of champagne, breakfast for 2 and 1:30pm check-out, so you can hit the “snooze” button. Rooms start at $219.
Adults Only V.I.P. New Year’s Eve party with live music by Airwaves 80s (voted “Best ’80s Band” nationwide by Gigmasters), private party access with red carpet photo op,open play bowling, 100-point VIP player card, special “sponsored tastings”, champagne toast at midnight, and more! The party starts at 8:30pm.
Head to Spicewood for live music at Poodie’s (22308 Hwy. 71 W., Spicewood, 512-264-0318). The Lucas Johnson Band begins at 8:30, and the Chubby Knuckle Choir takes over at 10:30. Doors open at 8:00; tickets are $20.
Rumi’s celebration includes a complimentary champagne toast and midnight buffet set to the tunes of the Johnston Brothers Band and the Bomb Squad starting at 9pm. No cover, but regular drink prices will be charged. Plus, across the street, Lone Star Bar will be serving beer and setups.
The folks at Rumi’s Tavern in Jonestown want New Year’s Eve celebrants to get home safely. For $25/couple or $15/single (cash only), a chartered bus will bring you to Rumi’s and back. Service begins at 7pm from two stops in Lago Vista and one at the Cedar Park dog park. To arrange for bus pickup, bring cash to Rumi’s and sign up any time before the 31st.

Make party hats and noise makers starting at 11am, children’s musician Joe McDermott will perform at 11:30am, then we’ll snack on goodies and toast to the 12 o’ clock hour!
