New Menu Items, Breakfast & More at McArthur’s Gastropub in Lake Travis

Written by Cathy Hale | March 9, 2017

McArthur’s is one of the snazzy new restaurants at Oaks at Lakeway with big televisions, a roomy all-season patio and an enormous bar. Think gastropub with a sports bar twist and sprinkle of modern industrial flair. The atmosphere is sophisticated, yet easy-going and friendly — conducive to watching any and all sporting events with ease.

And now the food matches the sophisticated vibe.

McArthur’s has been consulting with an executive chef out of California to elevate their menu and the overall experience. New dishes like the Louisiana Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Wine Country Burger (pictured above) and Cumin Roasted Salmon are delighting local palates.

Wait … we haven’t even talked about weekday happy hour specials, breakfast served daily and Kids Eat Free night yet!

What You’ll See

McArthur’s is just one of those places that’s fun to visit. The space features an indoor-outdoor bar with plenty of seating.

On most days, everyone flocks to the patio because it’s so inviting. You can lounge at a big table or sit at the the pass-through that divides the indoor/outdoor space with glass garage doors. They even have a lot of blankets, so you can stay warm on a breezy evening.

The indoor dining area can easily accommodate groups of all sizes. There are bar height tables and counter height tables, as well as comfy booths tucked away in the corners. It’s perfect for date night or family night.

Peppered throughout the restaurant are flat screen TVs and sports memorabilia, so it definitely embraces the community’s love of all-thing sports.

What You’ll Get

General Manager Robin Martinez is happy about the new direction McArthur’s is exploring.

“The changes we’re making are very exciting, because we’re getting great feedback from our patrons. When you walk in, you’ll get the true McArthur’s experience with food that tastes delicious and looks beautiful on the plate.”

Other menu additions include a Smokey Salmon BLT, the Miyagi Burger with teriyaki, bacon, avocado, and onion tempura.

One Heck of a Margarita

If you’re in the mood for a margarita, McArthur’s serves them up with style.

According to TJ, he makes one of the best margaritas in town. And perhaps he does. He makes them naturally skinny with fresh ingredients and good tequila. He describes it as, “no frills.” Not too tart; not too sweet. In other words, perfection.

Breakfast Daily

Did you know McArthur’s serves — drum roll, please — breakfast?!

Homemade biscuits & gravy. Eggs. Pancakes. Ham. Bacon. You know how Lake Travis residents love their breakfast foods. Well, now you can get your breakfast fix on from 8am until noon every day of the week.

Kids Eat Free

On Monday nights, bring the kiddos to McArthur’s and they can eat free off the kid’s menu.

Happy Hours Specials

McArthur’s offer happy hour pricing on beer, wine, cocktails and appetizers Monday-Friday from 3:30pm-6:30pm.

St. Paddy’s Day

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, McArthur’s will be celebrating with green beer and Irish-inspired specials. Check out their Facebook page for more details.

Patty is the abbreviation for the female name Patricia. If you must abbreviate ST. Patrick’s Day, it would be Paddy’s Day.
