Going out to the movies used to be a pretty straightforward process with limited choices. Get to the show and buy your tickets, grab an overpriced combo of popcorn and soda, find a seat. And you can still do that.
Or you can take your movie experience to the next level. The Moviehouse and Eatery is the best place for dinner and a movie in the Lake Travis area. It’s time to leave the cooking and cleaning to someone else! Enjoy the show as you kick back in your fully adjustable leather recliner and let the full service wait staff bring your choice of food and yummy cocktails right out to your seat.
The menu is loaded with a great variety of starters, pizzas, burgers, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. There is also a huge selection of beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. Whatever you order, make sure and save room for the bottomless bowl of popcorn topped off with real butter.
If the sitter didn’t work out for your date night, no worries. The Moviehouse and Eatery has a kids menu for the little monsters. Or surprise the family with something completely different on Sunday morning — go see a movie and have Sunday Brunch! Order up the Austin Frittata with a mimosa. The kids can go with Chicken and Waffles and a juice. The smile on their face will be ear to ear as they get swallowed up by the huge recliner. You can check out the full menu here.
The Moviehouse and Eatery recently converted all of their general admission theaters to dine-in auditoriums. They now feature eleven dine-in theaters with the option to purchase your tickets in advance. I highly recommend ordering your tickets online as soon as you know the date you’re going, especially if you have three or more people or if it’s going to be a popular movie day … like a rainy day or schools out. The theaters are not that big and seats book up fast.
Be sure to check out Deal Days at the Moviehouse with discounted tickets for moms and dads on Monday, well-seasoned Wednesdays, and other daily discounts for military and the first show of the day.
If you happen to catch a show in between meals and walk out hungry, the Trails at 620 has plenty of options for grabbing a bite afterwords. Head over to Freebirds for a burrito, Flores for Mexican food, or Highlights Gametime Grill. You can also grab a coffee and sweet treats at Angel Donuts and Treats.
