Mandola’s Italian Market is located in the Shops at the Galleria between Lowe’s and Best Buy. It’s a great location to grab a quick lunch or a bite to eat after a day of shopping in the Lake Travis area.
When it comes to family and kid friendly restaurants, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Mandola’s is a counter-service style restaurant. After placing your order with a cashier, you’ll get a number and be in charge of finding a table. But not to worry, the wait staff will bring out plenty of store-baked fresh bread with a plate of fresh olive oil before your food is delivered to the table (warning: this stuff is addictive).
When you’re eating out with the little ones, the second dining room off the main area has child sized tables and a door to the outdoor play area equipped with a playscape and additional seating.
Although not immune from children, the main dining room is your best option if you want some adult time. There is another outdoor patio area located in the front of the restaurant that you can access from the second dining area (during slow times, only the main dining room is open).
Wherever you decide to sit, the place is big enough that it won’t feel like you’re eating on top of your neighbor.
The food and everything else
When you think about Italian, do you think about pizza, pastas, salads, and panini sandwiches? Mandola’s has a great selection of all four and plenty more.
The specialty menu has whole wheat or gluten free pasta along with vegetarian and vegan options.
The kiddos will get to choose from several pasta dishes, pizza, or chicken fingers. All kid’s meals are served with a drink and a small empty bowl (I like how these guys think). Use the empty bowl as your negotiator to make sure they have an empty plate before running off to fill it up with a scoop of fresh gelato (included).
Mandola’s selection of cool gelatos with plenty of yummy flavors won’t make it easy to pick a favorite. Go ahead and try some free samples before making your final decision. When you’re not in the mood for a cool treat, just step over to the bakery section filled with all kinds of cookies and bars that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
