LTL Weekly & This Weekend in Lake Travis: May 11-13, 2018

Written by Todd Hower | May 10, 2018

When you forgot to tell drivers you’re painting the road …

We’re sorry. That’s what TxDOT said after causing major back-ups at 2222 and 620 when they started to paint new striping on Wednesday. Now, when you’re in the right lane on 2222 coming through the River Place signal, the striping changes allow you to turn left onto 620 from that lane.

When TxDOT forgot about you again  …

A TxDOT project for road improvements and signal work on 620 in Lakeway secured nearly $70 million in funding from CAMPO. Road expansion will begin in 2022. If you travel on 620 from Mansfield Dam to US 183, you’re not included in the latest project call for funding.

When you run out of hand sanitizer …

Signs at the UT Golf Club in Steiner Ranch encourage you to wash your hands after a mystery illness made 17 people sick at the women’s NCAA golf tournament.

When you have fish in your lake …

B.A.S.S., the world’s largest fishing organization, will host the Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest May 17-20, in Jonestown, Texas. This event marks the first time B.A.S.S. has held a tournament on the shores of Lake Travis.

When you win the race …

The final Election Day results mirrored those of early voting in Lakeway. Congratulations to Sandy Cox, winner of the three-way Lakeway mayor’s race.

When you can’t stop at five …

On Wednesday, LTL’s Cathy Hale shared 5 of the best lakefront spots for food, music, and fun on Lake Travis … and then she added four more.

For when it’s time to find a new place to live …

Save money when you sell and make money when you buy. Check out this local real estate company if you want to do that.*
