When you’re a political hot potato …
Lakeway City Park will celebrate its 25th anniversary next month. But there was a time when the idea of a waterfront city park sparked fierce debates, a mini-fight, and the fear that it might end up as another Hippie Hollow, a local nude beach on Lake Travis. The 64-acre property had an original asking price of $677,000, but the owner accepted the city’s offer of $375,000. Lakeway City Park officially opened April 9, 1994.
When you get another way out …
A traffic study for Route F — an emergency evacuation route in Steiner Ranch — is underway. On March 4th, a majority of the SRMA Board concluded that Travis County’s recommendation for Route F is the optimal decision and voted for its implementation. Travis County will conduct an open house with the Steiner Ranch community in April.
