LTL Weekly & This Weekend in Lake Travis: March 1-3, 2019

Written by Todd Hower | February 28, 2019

When you pull off the road to take pictures …

It must be bluebonnet season in Texas. The Texas Bluebonnet and Wildflower Report predict that you will see fully bloomed landscapes in mid-March or even earlier. This Toronto based media company thinks this is the best spot to take bluebonnet pictures. But what do they know, hey? And are there bluebonnet police ready to arrest you when you pluck the official state flower of Texas from the ground?

When you try to make the community safer. For deer and people …

You ban any fences that have spikes, sharp points, or open pickets. It was a unanimous decision for the Lakeway City Council. Lakeway residents will not be required to modify their existing metal fences to meet the city’s new ordinance, but some people don’t believe the city should be able to tell you what kind of fence you can have in your backyard. Sounds like an HOA? Older spiked, sharp-pointed, or open picket fences built before the ban are grandfathered.

When it’s not Halloween yet …

You can still get costumed up. Lake Travis High School Choir is hosting a magical Crowns and Capes Tea Party on Saturday, and you can get your tickets here. Eat fanciful treats, be entertained by princesses and princes, and bid on items for auction including tickets to Disney World.

When you’re a goat swimming with sharks …

Well, not really. Co-Founders of YOGA & GOGA, Rachael Phillips and Trey Kitchen, will host a celebration of their appearance on ABC’s Shark Tank on Sunday, March 3 at their studio in the Hill Country Galleria. On Wednesday, LTL’s Cathy Hale gave you a look at how this unique business came to be.
