LTL Weekly & This Weekend in Lake Travis: April 27-29, 2018

Written by Todd Hower | April 26, 2018

So you’re saying I have a 1% chance …

Call the plumber. That’s what the owner of Just Four Paws in Bee Cave did after receiving a $14,000 water bill. The water utility manager said our meters are accurate 99% of the time. The owner of Just Four Paws said no leaks here. It was a faulty meter read, and it has been resolved.

When you want to eat, drink, and watch a movie in a leather recliner …

Good news if you want to catch a movie here, but you don’t want to sit in traffic at 620 & 2222 trying to get there. The League Kitchen and Tavern is opening a new place here. To come are Torchy’s Tacos and Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew’s The Switch.

LTL’s Cathy Hale gave us a peek at Lake Travis’ newest brewpub, The Ginger Man at Hill Country Galleria. This open-air bar features beer from around the world, a tasty menu, high-end liquor, wine and plenty of room to soak in the laid-back vibe.

The reasons you decide to run for Lakeway mayor …

All three mayoral candidates in Lakeway are women — Sandy Cox, Jean Hennagin, and Tiffany McMillan — and here’s what they have to say about the issues facing the city.

Rock the vote early, Y’all …

Early voting is underway for the May 5 local elections. You have until Tuesday, May 1 to beat the crowds. If you live in the Lake Travis area, the closest two polling locations are Bee Cave City Hall (4000 Galleria Pkwy) and Randalls in Lakeway (2301 Ranch Rd 620 S.). Polls will be open Monday through Saturday: 7:00am-7pm and Sunday: noon to 6:00pm.

For when it’s time to find a new place to live …

Save money when you sell and make money when you buy. Check out this local real estate company if you want to do that.*

For a chance to win a $100 gift card at Hill Country Galleria …

This weekend, there a bunch of fun events happening like the 2018 Wild Flower Run, a Summit Hike at Enchanted Rock, the Big Burg Mountain Bike Race (part of the 2018 Texas XC State Championship Series).

Of course, there’s plenty of music in Fredericksburg too, like Eleven Hundred Springs and Joshua Ray Walker at Luckenbach (a kid-friendly show) and a live concert experience featuring tributes to four country music icons: Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks and Brooks & Dunn at the Rockbox Theater.
