When the road you travel needs more friends in high places …
TxDOT declined to ask for money to help widen northern RM 620 from Mansfield Dam to U.S. 183. Apparently what the winding, congested highway in western Travis County needs, at least the part of it north of Mansfield Dam, is more friends in high places.
This will give you more time to get to know the nine drivers you’ll meet at 620 & 2222.
When it’s too close to call …
Politics will get exciting in Lakeway when you vote for a new mayor and two new city council members in a few weeks — it could result in Lakeway’s first-ever runoff election.
When you need a name and a mascot …
The Lake Travis school district is taking suggestions for a name and mascot for its new middle school. The public survey, available on each campus website and ltisdschools.org, is open through May 8.
Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they come for you …
When you complete one of the most sought-after programs in Lakeway, you’ll learn everything from weather spotting to what it’s like to approach a vehicle on a traffic stop. Plus you’re eligible to join the Lakeway Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni.
Why UT fans may be cheering for OU on Sunday … no, seriously
The biggest football rivals may find a common bond this weekend as the Lake Travis Football Booster Club welcome Baker Mayfield back to Lake Travis to celebrate his 2017 Heisman Trophy. Baker played football for your LT Cavs and graduated from LTHS in 2013. As a senior playing for the Oklahoma Sooners, he was the proud recipient of the prestigious Heisman Trophy last year.
Make it out to the LT Heisman Celebration at Hill Country Galleria Pavilion on Sunday at 2pm. The event will include special performances by the Lake Travis High School Cavalier Band Drum Line, Cavalettes, Cheer and the Lake Travis Fiddlers.
Another former Lake Travis athlete …
This former Lake Travis golfer has been named to the USA Team for the 2018 Curtis Cup Match. You go girl!
Lake Travis supports its autistic community …

Cultivate offers ABA therapy and was recently accredited as a top behavioral service provider in the country.
When your pet needs a lounge …
This doggy daycare with luxury suites near Steiner Ranch is scheduled to open on June 1st. Your four-legged family members can enjoy upscale, salon-style, cage-free grooming. Woof.
It’s a bird; it’s a plane, it’s a fox on your roof …
Just when you think you’ve seen every critter scenario in the Lake Travis area, a new one reveals itself. Evidently, it’s not that uncommon to find a fox hanging out on your roof. Word has it that grey foxes are good at climbing, so they can climb trees to access your roof. What are they doing up there? Either resting or searching for other little animals (AKA snacks) that may already be up there.
