One of the best things about living in the Lake Travis area is the abundance of excursions you can take in the surrounding hill country. A short drive in any direction can make you feel like you’re in an entirely different world. Luckenbach, TX, is the perfect example. And if you love trailer food, wine, live music (or all of the above) this weekend presents a great opportunity to get back to the basics of love.
The first annual Hill Country Food Truck Festival takes place this Saturday, August 2nd from noon – 11:30pm in Luckenbach. Tickets are $15 per person, with kids 12 and under free. Trailer food, wine, beer and music will come together in this small, laid back hill country town.
This festival promises food trucks with plenty of tasty offerings. Trailers include:
- Cheesy Jane’s
- Clear River Pecan Company
- Come and Get It Chuckwagon
- Crazy Carl’s
- KHILL BBQ Company
- Mr. Meximum
- Red Bud Roasters
- Ritts Twisted Brisket
- SaWeet Cupcakes
- Slider Provider
- SpiceSea Gourmet
Festivalgoers will also have the opportunity to purchase wine by the glass or bottle from multiple local wineries until 9pm. Wineries include:
- 4.0 Cellars
- Messina Hof Hill Country
- Kerrville Hills Winery
- Fall Creek Vineyards
- Texas Hills Vineyards
- Singing Waters Vineyards
- Becker Vineyards
- Texas Legato Winery
- Westcave Cellars Winery
- William Chris Vineyards
And of course, it’s Luckenbach so there’s most certainly live music. The “Americana” music sampler promises to keep things lively throughout the entire day. The lineup is as follows:
12:00 pm: Lewis and Martin
1:00 pm: Milk Drive
2:30 pm: Rosie Flores
3:45 pm: Paul Cauthen
5:30 pm: Bonnie Bishop
7:00 pm: THE GREENCARDS
8:30 pm: Steve Poltz
10:00 pm: Dan Dyer
What to bring – The family! Kids, grandparents, anyone who likes food from a trailer and live music. And who doesn’t? Feel free to bring lawn chairs. Might want to throw in some sunscreen, too.
What NOT to bring: Food or drink. It’s all available for purchase at Luckenbach, so no need to sneak in your own. Plus, the proceeds of the event benefit the Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts, so you’re eating and drinking for a good cause.
We all know the song, but if you’ve never actually been to Luckenbach (or you blinked and missed it) why not make the drive and check it off the list this summer? It’s a little over an hour — give or take — from the Lake Travis area (and close to Fredricksburg, so you might as well swing through there as well!).

And remember, everybody’s somebody in Luckenbach.
