One of the newest businesses to make a home in Hudson Bend is My Love Fur Paws Pet Care, Lake Travis’ most up-and-coming spot for pet grooming, pet sitting, dog walking and even home visits to check up on your pets if you’re out of town.

What makes My Love Fur Paws so unique is their approach to making your pets as comfortable as possible while you’re gone, starting with their “no kennel” environment.

Dogs are welcome to relax in a comfy home setting, complete with carpet, couches, chairs and TV. When they feel like burning off some steam, they’re able to use the 4 outdoor play yards, some of which are even covered for extra protection on those warm afternoons.

“We do a lot of outdoor play versus keeping them confined … and I think that really helps the dogs’ mental state,” Kristine mentions as we tour the outdoor play yards that her client’s pooches find so invigorating.

A Pet Sitter with Style

When you first drive up to My Love Fur Paw’s new 5,000 square foot location, you’re immediately greeted with Kristine’s colorful style and playful dog-themed touches fill the property.

She even has a pet boutique on site, offering you the best in organic and natural treats and goodies for your pets, in addition to locally made leashes, collars, toys and more.

You’re invited to enjoy the entire pet sitting experience, from start to finish, beginning with a quick stop at the colorful shopping corner. As you fill out your new client paperwork in the stylish lobby, make sure to take a peek at the new goodies they have to offer.

Take a tour through the facilities to see the multi-colored private rooms that temporarily house the dogs as different playgroups are let out to run and play. Indoor play areas are inviting and fenced off to create many smaller play spots for different types of dogs — from hyper to reserved — Kristine is ready to help your furry friend find its niche.

Near the rear of the sprawling property is the Dawg House, a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom living facility where most of the action takes place. Kristine and her team of dog sitters supervise the pups in this real life doggie home, complete with a grooming room and access to even more of their outdoor play areas.

I was able to see the benefits of the no kennel environment firsthand — happy dogs lounged on comfy sofas while other, more energetic breeds raced around a large backyard play area, perfect for letting the dogs get plenty of exercise throughout the day.

A New Home on Hudson Bend

Kristine, an avid animal lover and business owner has been watching dogs for 2 1/2 years, and finally needed to expand this year following a jump in clients and the need for local dog sitters grew. She was quick to step up to the challenge, purchasing land and a warehouse that used to be an old excavating business, transforming it into the dog-friendly spot it is today.

“All of our hard work and money — it was worth it,” Kristine says as we turn our discussion to the list of projects to finish to complete Kristine’s dream pet care business.

There are still big plans in the works for the future of My Love Fur Paws, like an onsite fenced-off taproom appropriately named Bark n’ Brew, a great way to enjoy local micro brews fresh from the tap while your dogs get to socialize and burn off some steam with other Lake Travis pooches.

And there’s room to grow as Kristine and her team work to build out the space. You can look forward to things like the Meow Motel, their fun version of onsite cat sitting.

Also offered is at home pet sitting, or wellness check-ups, which include checking in on your four-legged friend and also watering any plants around your place as well as take in your mail and make sure everything is locked up and secure.

Their Grand Opening was Sunday, November 1st, and their doors are open for business, 7 days a week from 7am – 7pm.
