When you see a beautiful floral centerpiece, you might say, “Wow, that’s pretty!”
When you see a centerpiece designed by Gina, you’ll say, “OMG! I CAN’T EVEN BELIEVE IT!?! HOW DID SHE DO THAT?! QUICK, GRAB MY CAMERA! CALL ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND TELL THEM TO COME OVER AND SEE THIS! (Then your brain explodes with glee.)
Gina Provopulos — you can call her Gina P. — creates some of the most magical, over-the-top and fabulous decorations for all sorts of events in the Lake Travis area. And she’s been doing it for years. Lake Travis residents first experienced Gina’s gift for decor when she would decorate her kiddo’s classrooms for parties and special events.
Lakeway Elementary school parents may remember the jaw-dropping moment of walking into a classroom Gina decorated for a Christmas party. We aren’t talking a few balloons, and some decorations like you’d expect at classroom soiree — we’re talking fabric draped over each little desk chair with coordinating ribbons and ornaments hanging from the ceiling.
And then there’s the 80-foot magnolia leaf garland Gina made for one of the LWE fundraisers. Sure, she had to climb up and down a 7-foot ladder a million times to cut the leaves down, weave them and then hang them back up, but in Gina’s world, that’s no biggie.
Now imagine what this kind of creativity could look like in your home? W-O-W.
In 2017, Gina officially turned her passion for floral design and decor into a business called Red Ruby Events, named after the birthstone all four of her children share — a ruby. Let’s just say, business is booming. In fact, she’s practically booked for Christmas 2018.
Not only does she decorate private homes for holidays and parties, but she’s also working with Austin’s premier wedding venues and businesses. Gina has a gift for bringing spaces to life in unexpected ways.
Oh, did I mention Gina does Homecoming mums too? Simply put, they are works of art.
Gina is a visual design artist with serious flower power and not just the fresh variety. She can make silk arrangements for the interior that look lush and vibrant and feel real to the touch. So, despite the wacky Texas weather, you can instantly transform a dormant outside living area into a lively Tuscan terrace with a rich array of “faux” succulents, olive trees and even fig branches.
One of the reasons Gina’s clients love what she does is because of her dedication to helping them bring their one-of-a-kind vision to fruition. Whether it’s incorporating vintage, keepsake ornaments into a fresh, modern Christmas design or creating the perfect “I’ve-never-seen-that-before!?” show-stopper for a wedding reception, Gina thrives in mutuality — the creative process is part of the fun!
And speaking of doing it all, Gina always makes time to support the Lake Travis community and lend a hand to someone in need. She recently started a fantastic fundraising effort to help a local LTISD employee who is struggling to fight cancer. Gina took it upon herself to make a difference for this family and created the fundraiser. Within hours of launching it, donations were pouring in.
