It’s going to be another fabulous weekend in the Lake Travis area.

Saturday is a big day with Rods and Ribs at Crosswater Yacht Club, a great line-up of local live music, Oktoberfest celebrations, and the Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival at Fiesta Gardens. Check out the full schedule of local, big city, and get out of town events. We also have a growing list of pumpkin patches and fall fun.

Get out of town

Old Gruene Market Days in the historic district on October 15 &16 (10am-5pm)

UT’s Fun with Chemistry outreach program will be blowing up pumpkins, creating magical potions and generating a three-story-tall ghost at the Hill Country Science Mill in Johnson City on Saturday, Oct. 15. The 30-minute show (11am, 12pm and 1pm) is free with admission. Additional hands-on chemistry activities will be offered throughout the day, including making monster “snow” and witches’ “sand” using everyday ingredients. Plus, visitors can enjoy full access to the museum’s hands-on exhibits, build a personalized avatar, see a 3D science film and more.

Pumpkin Patches and Fall Fun

Boo at the Zoo at the Austin Zoo — Fridays & Saturdays through October 29, 2016 (6:30pm-9pm)

14th annual ACTS Pumpkin Patch opens on Saturday, October 8th, at 10am and will be open daily through October 31st. Patch hours are Monday through Friday from noon – 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-6pm

Harvest of Fall Fun at Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls, Texas. September 24 through November 6th (closed Wednesdays).

Fall Festival & Corn Maze at Barton Hill Farms open weekends from September 24 through November 13, 2016.

Weekday happenings

Shari Anderson’s award-winning photography is now on display through Nov. 10 at Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery, 1102 Lohmans Crossing.

Save the Date

7th Annual Public Safety Day on Saturday, October 22 at the Oaks at Lakeway (11am-3pm)

An Evening Under The Stars benefiting Central Texas Water Coalition on Sunday, October 23 at 6:30pm.

Tickets are on sale for the Bob Mayberry Foundation’s annual “Black & White Gala” on Saturday, October 29th from 5:30pm – 9:30pm at the Lakeway Resort & Spa.
