Lake Travis Lifestyle Weekend Roundup: November 10-12, 2017

Written by Todd Hower | November 10, 2017

It’s Friday, Lake Travis! Who’s ready for the weekend?

Before we dive into our weekend events, we’d like to take a moment to thank all of the veterans who have served our country. In fact, Veteran’s Day began as an official U.S. holiday to celebrate the end of World War I in 1918. And we’ve been honoring our vets ever since.

You can celebrate with the community this morning at a special Veterans Day celebration at the LTISD Performing Arts Center at 10:30am. The guest speaker will be Juliana Shepard Jenkins, the second daughter of astronaut, naval aviator and Lakeway resident U.S. Navy Ret. Rear Admiral Alan B. Shepard Jr.

In case you missed us …

On Thursday, Cathy shared the exciting news about the Bassmaster Elite Series Tournament coming to Lake Travis in May 2018. Thanks to the epic rains in 2015, and our friends at TPWD, our lake is ready for professional anglers.

In other local news …

The future of LTISD just got even brighter because voters approved the $253 million bond referendum and Tax Ratification Election (TRE). This means construction of two new schools (a middle school and an elementary school); upgrades, renovations, and repairs to existing facilities; new school buses, including installation of seat belts; technology; and land for future facilities and utilities.

Enjoy your weekend, friends!
