Happy Cinco de Mayo, Lake Travis friends!
On this date in 1862, a small, ill-equipped and outnumbered Mexican army under General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated the French forces of Napoleon III. Today, we celebrate the people of Mexico and show sincere appreciation (not appropriation) for their culture.
If you haven’t voted yet, it’s time to get out there and do it this weekend. We know how much you love your community and you want to see it grow with care. We hear you, LT. You’re smart. You’re vocal. It’s time to be heard.
Before we jump into the weekend roundup, let’s take a look back at what went on this past week …
On Wednesday, Cathy gave you the inside scoop on General and Special Elections in various local municipalities with sample ballot details. Get informed and get out there voters!
On Thursday, Kim shared an inside look at Lake Travis Crisis Ministries, an organization dedicated to helping Lake Travis families in need. There are many ways you can lend a hand and support this organization by donating clothes, household items and more.
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, local photographer Richard Parker is hosting a Mama & Me photo session special. For $150, mom can pose with her cute kiddos for a mini photo shoot on May 13th, 2017, noon–6pm at My Time Kids Academy in Bee Cave. The entire session fee will be donated to CC4C.org. Book it pronto — only 24 spots available.
