It’s another July weekend in Lake Travis, and as usual, there’s plenty shaking in and around town!
On Thursday, Cathy put together an update with the latest on Hill Country Indoor and all of the awesomeness it will contain when it opens in September. She also gave us a peek inside Lakeway’s newest boutique, FOUND.
And we took a dip in the rumor mill about who’s moving in the space formerly occupied by Iron Cactus at Hill Country Galleria.
It’s hot out there, folks, but it’s not too toasty for a float down the river. If vegging out on an inner tube sounds good to you, take a look at our ‘Get Out of Town’ section for details about floating the Comal River and the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels.
Have fun this weekend, everyone!

Get out of town
If you can’t beat the Texas heat, why not join it!
Take a drive out to New Braunfels for an outdoor adventure on one of the city’s two beautiful rivers, the Comal and the Guadalupe. Tubing down the Comal & Guadalupe Rivers is a Texas tradition. All of the details you need can be found online along with an interactive map, so you know where the tube chutes and exits are. Alcohol is allowed, but you do need to follow the rules. If you’re looking for a kid-friendly float, the Comal is considered a bit more tame for the youngsters.
