On Wednesday, we raised a salted-rim glass to celebrate #NationalMargaritaDay in Lake Travis. If you missed the chance to sip your favorite tequila-based cocktail this week, it’s a beautiful weekend to make up for it.
Yesterday, Cathy took us on a virtual juicing adventure to figure out which smoothie shops and juice bars are fueling the Lake Travis community.

Lakeway City Council unanimously voted to call a bond election on May 6, 2017 for $23,065,000 to fund the construction of a new 31,000 square foot police facility to better serve and protect the Lakeway community for the next 25 years.

Austin Shakespeare seats the audience in the round for Harold Pinter’s Old Times at The Rollins Theatre at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Showtime is 8pm on Friday and Saturday; 3pm on Sunday.
Get out of town
On Saturday, February 25 you can celebrate National Engineers Week at the Science Mill’s Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. Learn about the engineering design process and participate in fun, hands-on activities for both boys and girls, including making carriers to race down a zipline and building a giant kinetic mobile. (10am – 4pm)
Weekday happenings
Lego Robotics at Lake Travis Community Library on Monday, Feb. 27 from 4-5pm. This event is perfect for beginners to learn basic coding and robotics. Attendance is first come, first served and is limited to 8 parent/child pairs, ages 5 and up. Pick up your robotics pass at the circulation desk beginning at 3:30pm.
Irish Music Night at LT Corner Pub (every Tuesday 7pm-9:30pm)

Saturday, March 4th — Lakeway Indoor Garage Sale will be held at Lakeway Activity Center (8am – noon)
Saturday, March 4th — Primrose School of Lakeway will host a grand opening celebration from 10am to 2pm with activities including a petting zoo, a Kona Ice truck, face-painting, a balloon artist, a sensory bubble wrap room, a visit from Percy the Rooster® and a story-teller.
Sunday, March 5th — Save the date for one of Austin’s most cherished outdoor events, the Zilker Park Kite Festival! This is the nation’s oldest kite festival features hundreds of kites in the air and is free to attend for people of all ages; complete with kite flying contests, food, games and more.
