Oh. My. SNOW. Waking up to a winter wonderland this morning was an unexpected treat for the Texas Hill Country. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Lake Travis!
There’s so much to do in and around the Lake Travis area this weekend, but before we dive into events, let’s take a look back in case you missed us…
On Thursday, Cathy explored the Austin-y tradition of decorating a roadside tree in the Lake Travis area. If you’ve adopted a Christmas tree, head over to our Facebook page and share a pic!

It’s perfect weather for bundling up, sipping hot cocoa and watching the Hill Country Galleria’s Synchronized Christmas Tree Show. You can catch it every night from 5pm to 10pm on the half hour.

The season of giving doesn’t exclude our four-legged friends. It’s time for Tomlinson’s annual Pound4Pound Pet Food Drive to support pet rescues across Central Texas. Between now and Christmas Eve, purchase a bag of pet food for donation at Tomlinson’s, and your gift will be doubled — pound for pound.

Looking for more twinkling lights? Head out to Johnson City to experience illuminated oaks at Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC). This 25-year-old holiday tradition boasts more than 1.2 million LED lights. If you haven’t been, you’ve got to witness this spectacular display. #PECHolidayLights will be lit nightly from 6pm-midnight until December 31st.
