Rain is on its way in the form of Tropical Storm Harvey. The storm is expected to reach hurricane status today, making it the first hurricane to hit the Texas Gulf Coast since 2008. Remnants of the storm could bring rain and wind in Austin and the surrounding Hill Country.
While the weather may put a damper on weekend plans, rain would be welcome because it’s been H-O-T in the Lake Travis area. No, summer isn’t over yet.
This week we got a peek at the proposed Lakeway City Center. The project is expected to take 10 years to complete, but the good news is the developer has alternative concepts ready to roll in case City Council needs more options.
Also, has anyone noticed the new traffic signal at RR 620 and Dave Drive? We’re sure residents in The Preserve are breathing a sigh of relief! It’s about time.
Now for a quick look back …
On Thursday, we focused on residential and commercial real estate news in the Lake Travis area that surrounds the build-out of Sweetwater, its schools (LTISD) and what’s happening at Sweetwater Crossing — namely, the Covert dealership.
Have fun this weekend, everyone!

Get out of town
It’s time to get your shop on in a B-I-G way at Le Garage Sale this weekend at Palmer Events Center. This legendary cash-only shopathon features many Lake Travis area boutiques, designers and artists you already love like Adorn, Milk + Honey, Bellezza, Lure by Y&F and many more.
Le Garage Sale hours are Saturday from 11am – 6pm and Sunday from 11am – 5pm. If you haven’t been, it’s quite an adventure. Some stores set up changing rooms, but for the most part fashionistas wear bathing suits or athletic undies, so they can try it on on-the-go. All items are final sale, so there are no returns. But hey, shopping all of these awesome vendors with access to a full bar is totally worth it.
