The country is jazzed about this awe-inspiring celestial journey that will occur on August 21. The eclipse has its own website with a countdown to the first contact in Oregon. Locally, LCRA is keeping the Lake Travis area informed about how to watch it with helpful tips from meteorologist Bob Rose.

On Thursday, Cathy gave us the latest celebrity scoop in LT and shared the CC4C story. If you haven’t heard, Supernatural star and actor Jensen Ackles is officially in the beer business. Family Business Beer Company is opening in Dripping Springs to the delight of sci-fi fans and beer aficionados.
We also shared the touching story of CC4C, a local organization doing amazing things for children with rare or undiagnosed diseases. Lace up your sneakers and run to support these special kiddos and their families at Run to Uplift on September 17.
It’s opening weekend of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at TexARTS with a special champagne opening tonight and showtimes all weekend. Tickets are available online.
What else is happening …
It didn’t take long for the zebra mussels to make their way from Lake Travis to Lake Austin. And The Backyard had a ground breaking party, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be breaking ground any time soon.
