You might remember back to April 1st when we announced that an iceberg would be arriving in Lake Travis by early June to fill up the lake.
Well, that didn’t really work out.
By the time the iceberg had reached the Gulf of Mexico, it was a lot smaller than expected.
But that’s okay — the month of May turned out to be one of the wettest on record. The predictions that El Niño would hit this spring were spot on.
Texas picked up a statewide average of 8.81 inches of rain in May. The rain total at Camp Mabry in Austin was 17.59 inches, making it by far the wettest May on record. The water level of Lake Travis has leveled off between 11 and 12 feet from full this week!
We had been planning a party to celebrate the arrival of the iceberg, but now we’ll just have to celebrate an almost full Lake Travis and enjoy the view of a much smaller Sometimes Island.
Lake Travis Lifestyle is proud to bring you happy hour at the Oasis Texas Brewing Company.
If you haven’t been out to the lake recently, now is a beautiful time to go check it out — especially from the patio at the Oasis Texas Brewing Company overlooking Lake Travis.
We’ll have a special deal for you with $3 pints from 5:00pm until sunset. We’ll also have some food to go with your beer. The Tommy Want Wingy food trailer will be on-site serving up some famous (and very reasonably priced) made-to-order chicken lollipops.
Mark your calendar and join us Thursday, June 25 from 5:00pm until sunset. The Oasis Texas Brewing Company is located at 6550 Comanche Trail, Suite 301.
This happy hour event is open to everyone, so grab a friend and come on over to hang with us, have some craft beer and watch the sun go down.
RSVP so we know you’re in. We’ll send you a reminder a day before and keep you posted on our future Lake Travis Lifestyle events.
