Check out the work of a new artist in town throughout the month of August at the Lake Travis Community Library. The acrylic collage paintings of Linda Buikema, who recently moved to Lakeway, will be on display as part of the library’s new Rotating Artists program.
A fine arts graduate of the University of the South, Buikema has described her work as whimsical abstractions. She uses various mediums and her subjects include everything from pets and wine to cities and florals. You can see more of her work on her website. At the library, her paintings are on display in the meeting room.
Buikema’s work is the third exhibit since the new program began. Each month, the work of a different artist will be featured. Currently, the schedule is booked through the rest of the year, but interested artists can pick up necessary paperwork at the library. The Friends of the Lake Travis Community Library group is overseeing the displays.
