Are you ready for some football?
This Friday, Lake Travis High School is gearing up for the fall season with their annual Spring Jamboree Scrimmage on Friday, May 22. It’s a great opportunity for family, friends and students to celebrate our 5-time state championship program with a sneak peek at what’s in store for the 2015 season.
While the first regular season home game isn’t until September 4, Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach Hank Carter is ready:
“2015 is going to be a great year for the Lake Travis football program. We are excited about the future and have a ton of talented players in the system right now.”
Speaking of talent, before we share more details about the Spring Jam, let’s talk about the rest of the LTHS teams that are shining bright as the school year comes to a close.
Lake Travis won the 6A girls golf state title for the second time in three years and the boys golf team finished in second place. LT sophomore Kaitlyn Papp earned a silver medal for posting a 143 (70-73) and junior Kristen Gillman a bronze for shooting 144 (72-72).
Despite the rainy weather woes, the girls and boys are both crushing it in baseball and softball playoffs — literally!
The softball team just snagged a big win over one of the top teams in the state (and nation!) in a 2-1 series over Atascocita this past weekend. The boys Cavaliers (22-6-1) also got two wins Saturday to take the best-of-three area playoff series in Mumford and advance to the Class 6A, Reigon II quarterfinals. Playoff games for both teams continue this weekend.

This family-friendly event Friday evening is more than a great night of football, it’s fun for future LTHS stars because the Punt, Pass and Kick competition gives kiddos a chance to show off their mad skillz. All LTISD elementary students and 6th graders can participate for free. Prizes are awarded to the final winners in each category. And let’s just say, it’s rather magical to see the arms on some of these little tykes. Usually a few kids in the competition get a “Wow, did you see that kid?!” from the Cavs themselves.
There’s plenty of tasty treats with “Taste of Lakeway” that features food from some of LT’s fave and finest restaurants. This year, attendees can purchase an all-inclusive dining pass for $3 at the gate and enjoy all of the offerings from the restaurants on site.
In addition to football and food, you can buy tickets to win giveaway prizes throughout the night like a LED TV and Xbox One as well as silent and live auction items. The LTHS Spirit Shack will have everything you need to properly show off your LT spirit with the latest red and black gear and team souvenirs.
