It’s weekend one of the Austin City Limits Music Festival and like any festival as big as ACL, it can come with mixed emotions. It’s hard not to love all the live music, eats, Austin kiddie limits, the art market and more. On the other hand, you have crowds and crowds of people and crazy traffic.
So that usually leaves you with two choices — you’re going to head downtown and brave the crowds to enjoy this iconic Austin event, or you’re going to shack up like a hermit for the next two weekends and hope that some day this event will move to another city. But if you decide on the latter, you don’t need to be a recluse … there are plenty of things for you to do around the Lake Travis area where you can enjoy live music and several other family friendly activities with much smaller crowds (I recommend the 1st Annual Poodie Party in Spicewood).
Get out there and enjoy the perfect fall weather that is here for the weekend!
