I love our dog, Moses. A beautiful and majestic canine, he has the energy of a puppy yet he’s over 7 years old; a wild weimaraner that just won’t stop.
That was, until last summer, when we noticed a small lump on his leg that wouldn’t go away. He was also more lethargic and didn’t want to go on long walks anymore. We brought him to his local Lake Travis veterinarian for a check-up and lo and behold, that lump wasn’t just a bug bite, but a growing tumor that had to be removed.
Luckily for Moses and us, we caught it early and have some of the best veterinarians right here in the Lake Travis area. So when we had to schedule him for surgery we knew we could stay close to home when it came to finding him a doggie doctor.
Whether you have a dog, cat, bird or other small pet, it’s good to know just what veterinary clinics are within close driving distance, keeping in mind that emergencies like snake bites and poisonings can happen a lot to animals near the lake and Hill Country. Time is of the essence in many of these emergencies.
It’s best to forge a relationship with your vet before an emergency or injury happens to your pets, which makes it easier for them to see patients when they already have a current file on them and don’t have to start from scratch. Take an afternoon and schedule an exam for the first step in the process, which will help give you an idea of their overall health strengths and weaknesses.

You didn’t add Terrell Veterinary Clinic — they are fantastic.

Renee, thanks for letting us know that we missed Terrell Veterinary Clinic — you weren’t the only one to inform us how awesome they are 🙂
I updated our list of Lake Travis area vets to include Terrell Veterinary Clinic. And I gave them a call to let them know that we didn’t intend to leave them off … we just made a mistake.

The address you have for Lakeway Veterinary Clinic is wrong. It is 1003 RR 620 South. The address you posted is the one they have you call for a pet emergency.
Thank you

Thanks Marilyn! I made the change to show the correct address.

I am glad to hear that most animal clinics can take care of pretty much any kind of animal. I know that I will be needing help with my little turtle. I feel like it hasn’t moved in days.

I would like to get some help with my dog. I think it would be nice to be able to get some help. I think it would be in my best interest to protect my dog.
