Take a drive through Steiner Ranch. All the way down to Mary Quinlan Park on Lake Austin … but don’t drive into Lake Austin. You’re right next to one of the top 25 resorts in the United States.
But it wasn’t always this way. Fishing camp. Nudist camp. Rodeo training camp. Reducing Resort? The history of Lake Austin Spa Resort is a colorful one. Now it’s a place that Conde Nast Traveler simply calls, a “little piece of heaven” in the Texas Hill Country.
From the moment you pass through the gates, it’s as if an invisible force slips all of your stresses away, cloaking you with a robe of relaxation.
Aside from the absolutely gorgeous grounds, you take notice of the wide array of activities that you can customize with your daily schedule.
What are your plans for Lake Austin Spa — health and fitness goals? Yoga retreat? Solo or couples’ getaway?
No matter the reason, there’s one common understanding — you go to Lake Austin Spa for you.
Relax along the shores of Lake Austin
Lake Austin Spa Resort is nestled right in the middle of 19 acres of lakefront and the Texas Hill Country.
Enjoy walking paths that wind through the spa gardens. Water features and pools, hammocks in the shade, a yoga deck over Lake Austin.
The gardens provide fresh greens for the kitchen and flowers for your room.
You feel appreciation for the naturally manicured flora and fauna as you relax along the shores of Lake Austin.
Guest rooms you won’t want to leave
There are just 40 guest rooms at Lake Austin Spa. Each one is well appointed with everything you need for a one night stay or a week long getaway.
You can be choosy with your room type as well: Luxury Lake View, Luxury Garden View, Premier Room, Premier Hot Tub Cabin, Signature Room, or the Lady Bird Suite.
And when you find that it’s too difficult to leave the comfort of your room, but you’re hungry from all the daytime activities — room service is available from 7am to 9pm.
Activities all day long
The possibilities are truly abundant. From dawn till’ dusk, you can try out something simple as a morning stretch class, cycling in the fitness center, aqua fitness, yoga, and even dance classes.
There are classes that focus on your spirit which have literally left guests crying afterwards. Need something relaxing and maybe not so intense? Try the daily boat cruise or other fun water activities like kayaking.
Food that nourishes your body
Executive Chef Stéphane Beaucamp, originally from France, is a warm and welcoming chef who prepares tasty and healthy dishes.
You’ll will be glad to know that most ingredients are locally sourced, including fruits and vegetables from the Lake Austin Spa garden (that you can pick from as well).
All nutritional facts are included on the daily menu. Don’t forget to try out the fresh daily juices.
Escape to a spa oasis
Book a relaxing treatment in one of their traditional rooms or experience the outdoor treatment suite.
Get ready for your treatment by winding down in the Blue Room. Grab a refreshment and a book from the library. Find your favorite spot … maybe next to the fireplace. It has been said that relaxing in the Blue Room is worth booking a treatment.
Not up for a massage or facial? Pamper yourself with a mani-pedi or a feng shui cut and color by famous Billy Yamaguchi (Los Angeles) who makes a special appearance ever so often at the salon.
You can fill your days with as much or as little as you’d like at Lake Austin Spa.
Not sure how you want to spend your time? Connect with a member of the team at the resort, and they’ll help you design your perfect stay.
Do yourself a favor, and just enjoy it all.
