Imagine a warm Saturday afternoon, the breeze lightly blowing, guitars echoing familiar riffs in the distance, a golf club in hand. Around you are babbling fountains, newly planted native Red Bud trees and lavender, and a stage awaits the local act of the evening. There’s beer and food at the ready, and the vibes are undoubtedly Austin.
This is Hill Country Golf & Guitar in Bee Cave, which officially opened November 4th along with the Six String Grill.
Mini-Golf in Bee Cave
The first course to go in at Hill Country Golf & Guitar is the Fender Course, named after the iconic guitar many Texas musicians play — from Buddy Holly to Stevie Ray Vaughan. The 18-hole run is full of twists, turns, ramps, roaring fountains to golf over and just the right amount of difficulty for the average mini-golfer. You can enjoy the adventurous ravines, challenging traps, and spacious greens to maneuver around.
There is still some development on the property with the Gibson Course expected to be ready in 2015.
Local Music on the Lawn
Entertainment doesn’t seem complete in Austin without a touch of music and this is where Hill Country Golf & Guitar really gets going. Local bands perform Thursday-Sunday for you to enjoy while you play the course, hang out on the lawn, or take in from the outdoor patio at the Six String Grill.
When you’re visiting during the day, they still have the lock down on the Texas tunes, which we enjoyed during a sunny afternoon of golf. Rock, blues, country — all on speakers mounted throughout the course. There’s something special about playing a round while you listen to some of the rock legends of our era.
Rocking at the Six String Grill
Spending a day putting will take a lot out of a person, so that’s why the drinks and refreshments up at the Six String Grill are perfect after a round of mini-golf. Open for lunch and dinner, the Six String Grill is busy serving up tasty treats like the tenderloin steak sandwich, the Head Banger burger or the Broken Strings onion rings. Indoor and outdoor seating gives everyone a little taste of the venue, where you can enjoy a drink out on the patio while your friends and family golf below.
Signature drinks and local Hill Country brews will keep you and the family hydrated and refreshed, so don’t forget to stop by the Treehouse for a seasonal brew or two.
With the nights (and days) finally cooling off, now is a great time to take the trip out to Hill Country Golf & Guitar for some food, fun, golf and rocking tunes.
