This Saturday, break out your red, white and blue and head to the Hill Country Galleria for a day of entertainment, food, festivities and fun. The entire family can kick off the July 4th holiday a little early at the Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival.
The event runs Saturday, June 28th from 4pm to midnight.
The festival includes over 75 vendors showcasing jewelry, clothing, art, handmade goods, gifts and more. There will be plenty of food vendors, fair rides, carnival games and even a petting zoo for the kids.
Live music will entertain festival goers all day long with performances from Quiet Company, Dale Watson & His Lone Stars, Minor Mishap Marching Band, Lost And Nameless Orchestra, Mayeux and Broussard and Residual Kid.
The Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival, sponsored by SONESTA Bee Cave and put on by Special Events Live (the same folks who produce the Pecan Street Festival) provides plenty of fun rides and activities including a zipline, bungee trampoline and more.
There are also water activities such as slip-n-slides, so if your kids are into those types of things (and on a hot summer day, what kid isn’t?) plan ahead and pack or have them wear their swimsuit. Water activities are hard to resist, but it could be a long evening waiting for fireworks with your kid complaining about her sopping wet jean shorts. I’ve been there.
Speaking of fireworks, this festival does something really smart in that they offer two fireworks shows. The first “kid show” is scheduled at 9:00pm so that the little ones who can’t last any later can enjoy the display. Then, at 11:00pm, there is a second show that promises to be “the best firework show in Central Texas!” I love that they do this because it means more people can enjoy the fireworks and celebrate the holiday.
So bring the entire family to celebrate, shop and enjoy this fun community event. Dogs on a leash are welcome.
Happy Independence Day!
