It’s all fun and games until you drop your iPhone and the screen shatters.
Or, perhaps, you’re rushing around from dance lessons to soccer games and poor Fido is sick.
Did he eat an entire bag of Doritos again?
Wait a minute, what’s that smell?
If your brain screams something like, “Calgon, take me away!” or “Serenity now!” or “@#$*!,” we know exactly how you feel, Lake Travis friends.
That’s why we’ve compiled a go-to list to help you solve your “uh oh” moments, so you can keep calm and carry on. Or at least fake calmness and carry on.
Dropped your iPhone?
Been there, done that.

They can usually repair it in 60 minutes! See, your life only has to come to a screeching halt for one hour.
MiPhone also repairs iPads, Androids and most devices. Their comprehensive list of services and estimated prices are listed on their website, so no unexpected surprises should creep up on you.
Flat tire & auto woes
Have you ever had a flat tire when you’re just lounging around in your pj’s with extra time to spare? Neither have we.
Check out Discount Tire on 3922 Ranch Road 620 S. near Bee Cave City Park or Lamb’s Tire & Automotive at 12221 FM 2244.
When it comes to reliable auto repair in the area, lots of our Lake Travis friends recommend Christian Brothers Automotive at 1811 Ranch Road 620 N. next to Patriot Car Wash.
If you live in the Lago Vista area, check out Phoenix Automotive at 6506 Lohman Ford Rd.
Broken garage door
Trapped in your home because your garage door isn’t working?
Sounds crazy, but it happens.
Even if you figure out how to manually override it, you still have to fix that broken spring.
If your DIY garage door hacks aren’t working, it’s time to bring in a professional like Capital City Garage Doors, a family-owned and operated business with multiple locations in Austin, including one in Lakeway at 911 Ranch Road 620 N.
Pet problems
When your four-legged friend isn’t feeling well or has been injured, we recommend Spicewood Vet Mobile Care because they can quickly bring their services to you, which makes life easier with a pet that you don’t want to transport.
We’ve also done a round-up of vets in the Lake Travis area, so you can find one near you or anywhere in the LT area.
Sick kiddo
The flu, a cold, a stomach bug, a fever, pink eye, a sore throat, a weird rash, a nagging cough … and the list goes on.
Your little one went to bed last night feeling great and woke up this morning feeling terrible.
Now what?
Luckily, pediatricians in the Lake Travis area are super-accommodating and make time to see sick kiddos as quickly as possible. But if that’s not an option, there are others.
Remedy is an Austin-based mobile urgent care service that brings house calls to you. They can handle minor emergencies and a variety of illnesses for children 1 year and up (adults too!). You can schedule a visit on their website or download the app.
If you’d rather visit a doctor in-person, there’s St. David’s Emergency Center at the Hill Country Galleria (open 24 hours a day/7 days a week).
VIK Medical is another option with locations in River Place and Oaks at Lakeway. VIK is open from 8am until 8pm/7 days a week.
Annoyed (and sick) adult
You don’t have time to be sick when you’re an adult. Hence the “annoyed” part.
When you don’t want to see your primary doctor, you do have medical options like Minute Clinic at CVS. They can treat minor illnesses from allergies to eye infections to strep throat to urinary tract infections.
If you’re running a fever of 103 degrees, you’re too sick — don’t go!
Check out Minute Clinic online for pricing, health insurance providers they work with, as well as wait times and the ability to book your appointment online too.
See, it’s not that bad, sicky.
