There are plenty of treasures to be discovered in neighborhoods like Steiner Ranch and River Place when the community wide garage sales take place. But instead of driving all over Lake Travis neighborhoods in search of that next treasure, let them all gather in one place and come to you at the Activity Center in Lakeway. Shop indoors and be ready to find a bargain!
The Lakeway indoor garage sale is happening five times this year in March, April, June, July, and September. Doors open at 8a and close at noon. As with all garage sales, get there early for the good stuff!

This is a free event but you can help out by grabbing a few non-perishable or canned food items on your way over. The Activity Center will be accepting these items for donations to the local food banks and charities.
Garage Sale Tips
For some, this is serious business—and fun! You never know when you might find the next Picasso that a seller is giving away. If you’re feeling a little rusty after the winter, here are a few tips on how to turn a garage sale into a successful treasure hunt:

Just like going to the grocery store, make a list of what you’re looking for. This will help you stay focused.

If you’re having a hard time deciding on an item, go ahead and hold it while you make your decision. You might discover something you didn’t see and prevent someone else from snatching your treasure.

Be an expert at bargaining—be quick and make it easy by shopping well-stocked with a lot of $1s and $5s. And don’t be afraid to bargain or ask for a group discount when you purchase several items from the same seller. It’s all part of the fun!

If you can’t get the seller to budge on a high price for an item that you really want, give them your contact info and have them call you if they change their mind. The seller might become more motivated by the end of the event if no one else buys it.

Arrive in a vehicle with enough room to bring all your stuff home. And if you’re hoping to score some larger items, like furniture, don’t forget some blankets and straps to secure your load.
Do you need a booth at the next Lakeway indoor garage sale?
During a good spring house-cleaning, you may discover a few treasures of your own that need to be unloaded. If that’s the case, you can grab a booth for the next event. Lakeway Activity Center members have first dibs (60 days before the sale) on renting booth space at a members rate of $25. Non-members will get 30 days before the sale to purchase a booth for a rate of $35. You get a space that is approximately 10ft x 10ft along with a table and chair. There are a total of 30 booths available until they’re gone.
